Tim Puckett, the rancher whose cattle graze private rangeland adjoining the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, said he didn't give Ammon Bundy and his band of armed militants permission to enter the ranch Monday afternoon and destroy a publicly owned fence.

"I am very upset," Puckett told The Oregonian/OregonLive.

His ranch hands have already repaired the fence.

"They're not coming onto my place no more," he said of the militants. "If they do, I'm gonna have to do something about it. I don't want them going across my ground."

Reminds me of the movie Fast Food Nation, when the college kids cut the fences and try to convince the cows to be free. These Freedom Fighters are naive and just complete idiots.

The federal government has a multi-trillion dollar budget. I'm pretty sure we can afford to fix busted pipes.

The expense would be worth it in this case.

My experience indicates otherwise. Most of the budget goes to Social Security, the military, and fixing the busted pipes inside the elderly.

Don't forget food stamps! And of course the F-35 the most expensive weapon ever built..... They should perhaps just view this as a test of their trillion dollar military boondoggle...it should at least eliminate a few terrorists in the back country of Oregon.

Colbert had a good bit about this talking about how there are no police around the place keeping them in, so they can just drive five minutes to the local Safeway and get whatever supplies they want.

That's a bit more of an out-of-pocket expense than having their mothers ask people to send them stuff, though.

Because these people are Patriots. They are seizing the unconstitutional powers back from the Government of being able to purchase private land. First it will start with the Refuge, next the Louisiana Purchase will be heading back to France (which means good news for that pipeline). The militants claim to be sovereign citizens, and they are going to set up a sovereign citizen grand jury to try the local sheriff for embaressing them. Woo! So what if the sovereign citizens of the area decide to set up a opposing soveriegn citizen grand jury to try the militants for sedition, harassment etc. What happens if everybody sets up sovereign citizens groups to battle those other sovereign citizen groups?
