He's a bit strange to say the least. I've never listened to his music as rap is not my cup of tea. His foray into fashion looks like shit. I can't help but think he is taking the piss.
You're mistaken. Kanye doesn't make rap, he assembles together nice sounding samples underneath his shitty, obnoxious flow.

I dunno, I think he's improved over his earlier days quite a bit as far as his flow goes. His breath control especially is much better than 10-15years ago.
Now, his attempts at fashion look like crap to me, but I don't know anything about that sort of thing anyway.
Maybe - but I don't ever think he'll be that great on that front. From a production standpoint I he gets an undue amount of derision.
When you listen to, for example Power, it's tough to argue he's not talented - even if he is a bit of a doofus and egomaniac.

That motherfucker isn't broke. If he has $53 million in debt, you have to consider that he's worth $100 million.
Yet another one of his shitty albums came out this past weekend and he's asking $20 a pop. What better way for his fans to help him out than by buying his CD? Remember, this is the guy who charged $120 for a plain white t-shirt and his fans were dumb enough to pay it because he called it a "Hiphop" t-shirt.

Oh, I'd never doubt him as a producer - and he's also improved dramatically on that front. It's strictly his technical skills as a rapper where I think he's gone from flatly weak to...reasonably good.
And frankly, I have to wonder if he's yet another artist who really needs psychiatric help.

A few months ago I had realized I'd never given his catalogue a serious listen and so downloaded his discography. Liked the production, and his flow would have been passable but it was the egomania that really turned me off.
People blowing up in the media has given too big of a voice-box to absolute doofuses like him.
