Emory snowflakes protest pro-Trump chalkings.
Emory Students Express Discontent With Administrative Response to Trump Chalkings
And the university president seems to agree with the aggrieved snowflakes.

The following day, University President James W. Wagner, as well as representatives from College Council (CC) and Student Government Association (SGA) sent emails to the Emory community to address student concerns and responses. In his University-wide email, Wagner wrote that he intends to implement “immediate refinements to certain policy and procedural deficiencies, regular and structured opportunities for difficult dialogues, a formal process to institutionalize identification, review and [the] addressing of social justice opportunities and issues and a commitment to an annual retreat to renew our efforts.” Wagner added in his email that the previous day’s chalkings represented “values regarding diversity and respect that clash with Emory’s own.”

In the joint email sent on behalf of CC and SGA, representatives wrote that they “remain unapologetically dedicated to inclusion, diversity and equity,” and that both institutions will stand in solidarity with any Emory students who have encountered a lack of safety and support. To provide Emory students an opportunity to discuss such support and inclusivity on Emory’s campus, SGA will hold office hours on Thursday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and CC will hold office hours on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Apparently "social justice" is about silencing political opinions opposed to the left wing orthodoxy.
And note, all this nonsense is in response to a presidential candidate 40 Emory students do not like. :banghead:
It reminds me of the Mizzou protests which were likewise full of sound and fury and signified nothing. And both are orchestrated by idiots.
“I’m supposed to feel comfortable and safe [here],” one student said. “But this man is being supported by students on our campus and our administration shows that they, by their silence, support it as well … I don’t deserve to feel afraid at my school,” she added.
So she is in favor of silencing students who disagree with her. That is the definition of totalitarianism. It is the radical anti-Trumpites who are naziesque, not Trump himself.
Other students asked for improving diversity in the “higher positions” of the University, including the Board of Trustees and the faculty in general who should not be simply “diversity sprinkles” to improve statistics, as one student described it.
They also demand Emory leadership be more "diverse", i.e. to fill positions by race/ethnicity/gender rather than merit. We have too much of that nonsense as it is!
Grievances were not restricted to shortcomings of the administration. “[Faculty] are supporting this rhetoric by not ending it,” said one student, who went on to say that “people of color are struggling academically because they are so focused on trying to have a safe community and focus on these issues [related to having safe spaces on campus].”
"People of color" are struggling academically because somebody chalked "Trump 2016". Nice excuse if you can get somebody to believe you, and apparently Emory leadership is too PC to tell these idiotic, entitled snowflakes to fuck off and study a little for a change. Maybe if they didn't spend their time on seeking how they may be offended and protest about every little thing they dislike they'd have better grades.

Trump Derangement Syndrome = Ignorance proclaimed loudly and forcibly upsets people.

Seems to me that Trump Derangement Syndrome manifests itself in other ways - like the OP.

Why are you calling this Trump Derangement Syndrome?
Because these college students fragile snowflakes are deranged merely for seeing the word "Trump" in chalk.

"X derangement syndrome" is a common phrase actually. It originated with Bush.

Mindlessly flipping terms, akin to children's "I know you are but what am I", is not fooling anyone older than 9.

Does he?

From the article you linked and quoted:

One student asked if Emory would send out a University-wide email to “decry the support for this fascist, racist candidate” to which Wagner replied, “No, we will not.”

And, in fact, he did no such thing.

It's a way to tie all opposition to this cretin into a nice little box and not have to consider any of it.

Did you even read the article? It's not about lumping all opposition to Trump together.
It's about these Emory students who get hysterical because somebody at their college likes Trump and dares express their opinion. I mean, how dare they disagree with these 40 students! And why are they walking about and not in their "safe space" anyway? Don't they realize how many things they might disagree with they might encounter walking around?

As usual, you are wrong. That's because you didn't read the whole thing.

While Wagner initially stated that he would not be writing a University-wide email regarding Trump, after over an hour of discussion in the board room, he appeared to have decided to begin working on an email concerned with at least the chalkings, at which point he gently wrapped up the conversation so that he could begin drafting it.
Update about that email appears in the beginning of the article and I quoted part of it. I will quote it again, with some emphasis added.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is making yet another snowflake meltdown.

Then it is a phenomena that transcends Trump.

It is about some fears expressed by students.

Fears that something in the place they live will somehow harm them.

It seems more akin to all the recent hysteria over Muslims than anything on the left.

If talking about presidential candidates represents "difficult dialogue" for today's young people, then the future of America looks very, very bleak.

On a side note, some of these chalkings were in places where such is not allowed and the people who put them there should rightly be held accountable for their acts of vandalism/graffiti.

Isn't "Trump derangement" redundant? What is there about Trump that isn't deranged?

We seem to be forced to choose between irrational extremes, apparently, there is no possibility of moderation anymore.

I cringe at the left's obsessions with identity politics, postmodernism and victimhood, these are not very productive. But I do see where these obsessions come from, the centuries old multiple bigotries of the right.

But the left's obsessions aren't leading us to TEOCAWKI, "the end of civilization as we know it," the fascist Trump may very well be.

Then it is a phenomena that transcends Trump.
Yes, these snowflake college students get hysterical about things other than Trump too.
It is about some fears expressed by students.
Fear of words they disagree with written in chalk on a sidewalk.
Fears that something in the place they live will somehow harm them.
It's a very irrational fear. Chalk is harmless.
It seems more akin to all the recent hysteria over Muslims than anything on the left.
Unlike Trump, Muslims have been responsible for numerous terrorist attacks in recent years.
For example, Trump did not blow up a Belgian airport.

I don't think any school should have a public racist rant for a couple of hours just because a few students think that idiot is awesome. Fuck that. I don't think they should automatically be disqualified from speaking, but when the students and school admin don't want the fucker speaking there, why the hell would they? On the other hand if a school welcomes someone like Trump or Ann Coulter because they want to challenge them in Q&A or they are interested in what they are saying...go for it.

How is it Trump Syndrome to not want to be stuck in a room with this piece of shit while he has a microphone?

For some American to fear an attack from a Muslim is as rational as a fear of an attack from a Trump supporter.

Both have occurred.

Both are extremely unlikely to happen.

But the left's obsessions aren't leading us to TEOCAWKI, "the end of civilization as we know it," the fascist Trump may very well be.
I don't like Trump either, but I don't think he is fascist. Those that wish to silence him or his supporters, on the other hand, definitely do exhibit fascist tendencies.
