What's wrong with supporting woman's rights? What part of that prompts one to be upset?

Apparently, supporting women's rights makes baby Jesus cry, then fly into a murderous rage. Because only someone who really hates Jesus would want to stop people from mistreating women.

I think Cruz behaves as a religious zealot because it suits his own ambitions, not because he is psycho/nuts or necessarily even believes much of it. Before he joined the US Senate, he only gave about 0.9% of his roughly $5 million in earning to charity/church in those 5 years. Tithing is a big deal in fundagelical churches, the notion would be hard to miss. He is far more likely to be a cheap ambitious bastard than a real zealot.

I agree with the bolded, but that is what makes him so very much more dangerous, in my opinion. The very worst of the religious zealot leaders are always in it only for their own political gain, and not out of any true belief. The Spanish Inquisition comes to mind here.
