In the last few months I caught wind that Golden State was on pace to beat the 96' Chicago Bulls win record of 72-10, and so started checking out their games. We're talking one of the best teams in NBA history, so a lot of fun to watch. In the last few games Vegas betting odds actually turned in Golden State's favour to beat the record, now that they're sitting at 52-5.
I've been reading fivethirtyeight articles on their run and all signs point to the major factor being Stephen Curry, who's, for the most part, the best 3-point shooter in NBA history:

And this is the major reason I watch sports, not to root for an arbitrary grouping of players, but to see players and teams crush records like this.
