• Welcome to the Internet Infidels Discussion Board.

One investigation will proceed!

An investigation into election integrity that is bipartisan (which this claims to be - democrats are part of this?) may not be all bad. You'll finally have something to show that election fraud isn't a big deal, or that it is, instead of just rhetoric.
A number of states with Republicans in charge already have done studies and found negligible voter fraud.

Really he seems just like all recent Presidents.

dumbest thing you have ever written on these boards... and that, in my opinion, is saying quite a bit.

Talk about willful ignorance, or worse, blatant falsehoods.. I guess it would be far more accurate to say that our current president seems just like you... but not anything like any recent president.. unless Nixon was "recent".

Trump is very much like Nixon, I guess... but only him, and that was not even remotely "recent".

There is a YUGE difference between "voter fraud", and "fraud within the electorate process".

Voter fraud is done by (illegal) voters.. it is the act of a group of voters either voting multiple times, or proxy voting non-existent people, or voting in the wrong district to manipulate the electoral college.

fraud with the electorate can be anything else... manipulation of voting results for any subset of tallies or the illegal manipulation of voters through the spread of misinformation intended to deceive.

The first case is not known to be a big problem, but one I would agree should be investigated for the purpose of strengthening controls that are already in place.

The second case is suspected as a problem, and a huge problem, and should be investigated for the purpose of eliminating the threat to the democratic process. People need to learn critical reading skills, and force of law needs to be applied to those caught intentionally spreading misinformation, along with a committee charged with the responsibility to follow up on disseminated falsehoods with greater force and effort then the original dissemination, with compensating control in the form of fines.

If a politician spends 5 minutes lying to the public, then the result must be at least 5 minutes of clarification / retraction in the equivalent or broader venue.
In printed newspapers, the cover headline may only contain correction or retractions, if any are required under these new laws, for that distribution.

In other words, getting caught lying for the purpose of manipulating votes or any other deception, should be FAR worse than anything that ever could be attained by getting away with the intentional lie. Otherwise, the message we are sending our potential leaders is that crime does pay.

Oh, so from now on it will be, well gee, the guy I don't like could not have won under any circumstances so it must be fraud.

No, this is just a bunch of crap meant to distract and disrupt things by childish imbeciles.

Trump won fair and square, even if he is just an asshole.

Well, that's the funny part.
Trump won, but claims he could have one by a wider margin except for voter shenanigans. He hasn't offered any evidence of this widespread shenanniganery, he can't show that he suffered from the shenanniganery, but he'll spent tax dollars to root it out.

Why?

Especially as there are plenty of other things he could be investigating...

It most certainly is because it is the liberals who are leading the charge in proclaiming Trump is delusional, not conservatives.

And you have to prove Trump is mentally ill.

Pffft!
Nobody has to "prove" anything about Trump's mental health. And of course Democrats are in the lead as far as talking about Trump's deficiencies; in case you missed it, Trump accomplished a hostile takeover of the GOP last year, and its members have dutifully put party before country ever since.
BUT - Republicans (other than those in 'safe' districts or who are not up for re-election in 2018) are already joining Democrats in calling out his incompetence, dishonesty and unfitness to lead. So far, only Dems (afaics) have pressed the fact that he is a danger to American democracy, but it's getting closer to the tipping point with every sequential Cheato fuckup. Won't be long now before we will know if he can endure until the mid-terms. Right now it looks like he might, and if he does and nothing has improved as far as his record-low approval ratings, and Republicans haven't turned on him, the house (and maybe even the Senate) will fall in 2018 and he'll be impeached before you can say "LOCK HIM UP!"

Of course if he manages to get the military to back him in the insidious coup he has undertaken, that could all be moot. In that case there will be rivers of blood in the streets - just like Uncle Vlad is hoping.

I agree. I don't think it will ever get to a military coup (I think the military would shoot him before shooting any citizen), but I am fully prepared to shed blood in the act of protecting our nation from internal insidious havoc. If a federal militia were to come marching into my city, they would all be buried by the 2 million+ residents, patriotically defending the nation.

It will never come to that... the military wouldn't attack citizens due to the ethics instilled in them... and that other reason: we would fucking kill them all very easily. what is it? less than 1 million soldiers stationed domestically? If every single enlisted soldier marched up to Manhattan island, with no other help from outside the boroughs, the residents there alone would outnumber the entire population of all branches of the military, 2 to 1.

Unless, of course, the plan was to nuke every major city... I'm thinking more of a reaction to any attempt at military control of the populace.

So Trump and his admin-clowns are childish imbeciles...I can get on board with that.

Donald Trump said:
We're gonna watch Pennsylvania. Go down to certain areas and watch and study and make sure other people don't come in and vote five times. ... The only way we can lose, in my opinion -- and I really mean this, Pennsylvania -- is if cheating goes on.

For the foreseeable future, Cheato will make up more voter frauds, Obama wiretaps, Pizzagates etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum, that need investigating. There will be no end to things OTHER THAN HIS RUSSIAN CONNECTIONS to investigate for the foreseeable future. He'll (try to) make sure that his next appointee to the FBI has a looooong list of things to do besides investigate him and his corrupt campaign. The only outstanding question is whether the majority of republicans in congress will continue to follow him down these imaginary rabbit holes, or if enough of them will either grow a conscience or become fearful for their own political lives to put a stop to it.

If one were to win something through lies and deceit, then, no, one has not won "fair and square".

I find it humorous and childlike that the Repugnants keep circling back to this, "he won, anything goes" attitude. He was not elected god and king.. ruler of all... he was elected the leader of the executive branch of the US government... 1 of 3 equally powerful branches in a system designed around transparency and balance of power.

no one is suggesting a reversal of the election results under any foreseeable outcome of any investigation. Repeating, "but he won" is precisely equal to saying, "but he really wants it". It is completely besides the point.

You do realize that "election tampering by a foreign agent" is something that should be investigated by the FBI, if not only to discover flaws and create better controls to protect the integrity of our system, no? Do you not agree?

What Trump wants investigated is voter fraud... like when someone dies and doesn't have the decency to notify the election board that they have died. that's what he is calling fraud.

You mean like Hillary claiming Russia did it so we should investigate for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever throughout all eternity?

And of course, if the conclusions say there is no voter fraud, then it must be investigated again all claims of voter fraud are made to be true.

for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever...

Republicans has investigated the Russian connection to Trumpster for a couple months. But they haven't gotten to the bottom of it. As a trumpster, aren't you a little curious to understand the extent of a foreign government's influence over our election? I'm sure that you agree that we need an independent investigator to get to the bottom of this.

I'm not a trumpster. I can't stand him and don't support him.

I find the whole thing absolutely ludicrous and want it to be dropped so we can go on to more important things, like holding news agencies and reporters accountable for lying, sanctuary cities, and the Pink Floyd song, another dick, er, brick in the wall.

The FBI nor the Democrats haven't gotten to the 'bottom of this' either.

Of course you find it ludicrous! This scandal won't go away. And it's preventing Trump's warped agenda from being fully deployed.
