Ok, I lied. I never intended to post the video.

Dear America,

Fuck you.

Fuck you for even giving a shit who attacked first. When there is a conflict between two sides, and you're trying to figure out which side to align with, the correct answer is not "Whichever side didn't attack first." If your answer is anything other than "Whichever side doesn't have fucking Nazis on it" then you are either a Nazi or a Nazi sympathizer.

Since there are a lot of white Americans on this forum, unfortunately I have to explicitly point out that Nazis are bad.

Sincerely,
Not a Nazi

Yeah, yeah, but did you cheer for Indiana Jones or did you find characters on both sides, pro- and antagonists, compelling?

Isn't the reason that most people hate the Nazis because of the stories they've heard about on the fake news? Those are also the people who told us that Trump is an incompetent moron. How much can we trust them?

Yeah, yeah, but did you cheer for Indiana Jones or did you find characters on both sides, pro- and antagonists, compelling?
Ehh. I cheered for Dr. Jones, yet at the same time, without the damned Nazis, nothing interesting would have happened.

I'm still not sure that making things interesting is worth putting a Nazi sympathizer in the office of the President of the United States. Unless you, as a member of the US military, can assure me that nobody is going to let him do anything stu... nevermind.

Sad.

Interesting fact is that the crystal skull movie was a bit like this and it sucked.

I'm also not a NAZI so, not being a NAZI, I think the first amendment is important to understand and support. The fucking neo-nazis, kkk, etc. are scum but have the right to speak and demonstrate (think goodness the ACLU still support this right). It is only those with opinions that are extremely unpopular that need this constitutional protection - popular speech doesn't need protecting.

The neo-nazi scum were exercising their right to speak (with a permit), not destroying property or attacking others. Those who disagree with the first amendment protection (in Germany they were called brown shirts) came from out of state to forcefully deny the scum their American liberties.

Both sides were scum but, oddly, the fucking klansmen were the ones within the law until they were attacked by the brown shirts.

Ya, it's like how the Europeans are the real ones to blame for terrorist attacks because they haven't allowed the implementation of sharia law in their countries. Fucking Europeans.

Also, many of the original Nazis were Europeans.

Good point. I rescind my comment.

I never meant to imply that any Nazis were responsible for anything or were anything except victims themselves who are worthy of our support.

H. L. Mencken said:
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.

H. L. Mencken is the real target of the current violent conflicts. If you dare say that one side has free speech, it is because you support and believe in that side.

Also even though there are at least three sides there are only two sides.

I'd like to make the point that the alt-right had a permit for the Saturday afternoon rally. Not the Friday night torch march.

Perspectives from some of the lefties. Clearly they view the violence from the left as self defense.

On Democracy Now, Cornel West, who was also in the line with us, said that he felt that the antifa saved his life. I didn’t roll my eyes at that statement or see it as an exaggeration—I saw it as a very reasonable hypothesis based on the facts we had.

There was a group of antifa defending First United Methodist Church right outside in their parking lot, and at one point the white supremacists came by and antifa chased them off with sticks.

No police officers in sight (that I could see from where I stood), and we were prepared to be beaten to a bloody pulp to show that while the state permitted white nationalists to rally in hate, in the many names of God, we did not. But we didn’t have to because the anarchists and anti-fascists got to them before they could get to us. I’ve never felt more grateful and more ashamed at the same time. The antifa were like angels to me in that moment.

The Nazis and the KKK have the right to demonstrate and be heard in the USA, but those who oppose them also have the right to tell them to fuck off.

In the immortal words of Jello Biafra, "Nazi punks, fuck off!"

Exactly. Freedom of speech includes the freedom to tell other people that their speech is stupid.

It does not include the freedom to commit vehicular homicide against those who tell you that your speech is stupid ... except maybe in Arkansas.

No argument. Those who oppose any ideology have the right to ignore those espousing it or to tell them to fuck off. However they do not have the right to beat them with sticks to try to stop them from speaking their minds.

Someone simply espousing their neo-nazi views is an idiot but they have every right to do so. Someone who disagrees has every right to do so but if they form a mob to physically assault someone holding views they disagree with are not only idiots but even greater idiots and more dangerous than those they are attacking.

Hmm, you forgot to mention you were not a Nazi.

You can't use the both sides are exactly as bad argument when one side includes Nazis, but thank you for publicly defending Nazis and letting everyone know what you are.

I wasn't there, so I can't be 100% sure, but from the footage I have seen, and the accounts I have heard, the Nazi assholes were the aggressors in this confrontation. Where you there, or do you have any unbiased sources that show that the Nazi assholes were just defending themselves?

So you're not a Nazi, you're just someone who defends Nazis and gets angry at people who oppose Nazis?

That's an awfully fine hair to split.
