You ever have your boss come up to you and ask whether you'd like to be the surrogate mother for his and his wife's child? Sure, what woman hasn't. Which makes one wonder why such an event is forcing this poor ole guy who's wife can not carry a pregnancy to term due to some awful Intelligent Design to resign from his seat. He even repeatedly offered a staffer $5 million for the role of surrogate. Repeatedly, as in he did it enough times so the staffer knew he was serious about such an offer and didn't want them to think he'd pull back from it.
It is currently unknown how the surrogate pregnancy would have been handled, except that nothing but the best interests of the staffer would have been in mind.

The eight-term Arizona lawmaker abruptly resigned Friday, bowing to an ultimatum from Speaker Paul Ryan. Ryan told Franks that he would refer the allegations to the Ethics Committee, and urged him to step aside.
