Does Donald Trump disprove several conspiracy theories?

If you spend any time with conservatives, no doubt you've been exposed to the "Bilderberg Group" conspiracy theories that originated with white supremacists alt-right free speech advocates identitarians.

Here's the thing: if the governments of the world were secretly controlled by a cabal of sinister Jewish bankers, what agenda of theirs could possibly be advanced by having someone so incompetent, corrupt, and unlikable as Trump in office? Wouldn't his mere presence in the White House risk undoing everything they are trying to accomplish?

In fact, I would suggest that any conspiracy theory that involves some sinister group secretly controlling the world's governments or at least controlling the American government would be thoroughly debunked by the election of Trump.

The lizard people? What would the lizard people possibly gain from the election of Trump?

The Koch brothers hate Trump and were pretty public about it.

George Soros hates Trump.

Can you think of any "they control the government" conspiracy theory in which the "they" in question would actually want an idiot like Trump in the White House? Wouldn't every one of them do everything possible to prevent a Trump presidency?

The thing with conspiracy is that the things that would normally cause the death of such a "hypothesis" in the real world only fuels conspiracy narratives. One advantage Trump has is that in most conspiracies, he's the champion fighting the good fight. I think there's a certain bent to racist minds, and one of those bents is to easily believe in conspiracies involving minorities, like Jewish bankers for example, or 40 thousand people being bussed into one small town to vote illegally. Or, using the same actors in every other school shooting. Or spotting stage lettering on moon shots or noticing there aren't any stars. The conspiracy is filled simultaneously with the most clever and stupid people imaginable. Just ask Alex Jones and his huge ass audience of idiots.

The Chinese? The Chinese are seen as an adversarial nation by Trump's supporters. Putting an insane Republican in charge of a nuclear arsenal seems like an insane smoke bomb to use.

Maybe the Russians. As long as conservolibertarians lack the ability to admit that they were wrong, the Russians definitely benefit from this arrangement. Well, the Russian oligarchs do, at any rate. Even with the Russians, they are playing a dangerous game poking a nuclear-armed bear and putting a madman in charge of the nukes. Even with the Russians there is a chance things could go very badly for them at a moment's notice (although they are protected by the inability of American rightists to admit that they might be wrong about something).

It's virtually impossible to forget. Many a Republican right now seems to have every intention to lie, cheat, steal and relax any number of ethical norms in the attempt to "level out the playing field." Many of them actually believe in this "deep state" nonsense, and use it as an excuse to do whatever is necessary in order to eliminate what they see as an unfair advantage. FBI getting too close to your idiot president? Well then, the FBI is simply a deep state operator. Look at the nasty, unethical and underhanded tactics used by the GOP, especially the House Intelligence committee in "investigating" the Trump/Russia question. Their actions betray a real and enduring belief in the deep state, and they will destroy personal freedoms to see it eliminated, and throw democracy under the bus in the process.
