The number of firearm-related homicides in the U.S. increased by 31 percent from 2014 to 2016, according to a new analysis released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The number of firearm related homicides increased from 11,008 in 2014 to 14,415 in 2016, the CDC says, after being relatively stable from 2010 to 2014.
The report examined the three most common methods of homicide, with firearms topping the list.
In 2016, the number of homicides involving firearms was about eight-times higher than those involving cutting and piercing, at 1,781, and 30-times higher than those involving suffocation, some 502 deaths.
The report offered no analysis of why the number of homicides involving firearms increased so dramatically between 2014 and 2016.

Of course, we really know why the increase: the russians funded the treasonous NRA, and the gop caved to their demands.

However, in 2014, the gun loons continued to ease gun legislation, particularly with the really dumb idea of allowing guns in bars and university campuses. The damage was already in flight, though...well before 2014.

The NRA was colluding with a known Russian spy. The NRA helped funnel money from the Russians to American candidates.

On the day this information was made public, the Republicans changed the rules so that the NRA would not have to report how much money changed hands.

I don't know why you think it matters how long they've been traitors.

The NRA promoted policies designed to increase the number of Americans that die every year from mass shootings. The more they succeeded in getting legislation passed, the more Americans died.

They also worked with a hostile foreign power to funnel an as yet unknown quantity of money to American politician.

They are traitors and they are working very hard to get a lot of Americans killed, including American children.

I don't know why you and the other rightists are so focused on the timing of this when the basic facts are what are important.

How long does one have to commit treason before it counts as treason?

How long does an organization have to work to increase the number of Americans that are killed before we can say that they work to get Americans killed?
