Given that Amazon is notorious for mistreating workers, this should come as a surprise to no one.

Now comes the part where conservatives and libertarians scold the striking dirty commoner wage-earners for not just putting up with whatever their corporate overlords feel like doing to them, while simultaneously calling me an elitist for sticking up for them.

Because if there is one thing that characterizes a non-elitist, it is defending large corporations from dirty commoner wage-earners.

There is no other way to not charge people for shipping.

They are winning the competition by paying workers less.

It is the only idea present day capitalists have.

Amazon has patented a system that would put workers in a cage, on top of a robot

Yes, yes, "starvation wages" and "obesity" are the two biggest present day problems. Or, maybe, one of them was something Marxists used to think would happen in the 19th century but never does. Except in places like Venezuela.

Amazon asked Spanish police to intervene in warehouse strike: report - Business Insider
Amazon reportedly left police in Spain 'dumbfounded' by asking them to intervene in a mass warehouse strike and patrol worker productivity

Amazon asked police in Spain to intervene in a mass strike on Friday by enforcing worker productivity inside a Madrid warehouse, according to local reports.

Thousands of Amazon workers across Europe went on strike on Black Friday in protest of the working conditions at warehouses.

Spanish police were "dumbfounded" by Amazon's request, which they categorically rejected, according to El Confidencial.

Amazon denied the allegation, calling the reports "ludicrous suggestions."
The police thus followed a policy of less government, while Amazon's management wanted more government.

'We are not robots': Thousands of Amazon workers across Europe are striking on Black Friday over warehouse working conditions

Thousands of Amazon workers across Europe were striking and protesting on Black Friday in anger at the company's warehouse working conditions.

Strikes were taking place across Amazon sites in Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. The Italian press reported that managers were having to pack boxes to meet demand.

In the UK, the GMB trade union and off-shift Amazon workers were demonstrating outside warehouses.

UK politicians expressed support for the protest, with the deputy leader of the opposition calling on Amazon management to listen to staff concerns.

An Amazon spokesman said: "All of our sites are safe places to work and reports to the contrary are simply wrong."
I expect a lot of pseudo-leftist concern trolling from the capitalism apologists, a lot of stated desire for workers to be taxed to support those that they normally consider undeserving lazy bums. Something that they normally consider an outrage.

Small time capitalists face a lot of uphill struggles.

Because of big time capitalists and a stupid system of competition as opposed to a system of cooperation.

Imagine if humans actually cooperated with one another?

Some big time capitalists and their sycophants say that is against human nature. Then have a good laugh as many struggle to allow them to live like a king.

Obesity is in part a problem of capitalists polluting the food supply.

And being allowed to do it.

And I am glad you think that if wages are not starvation wages they are just fine.

As the wealth of the top 1% skyrockets.

And the lives of most get slowly harder and harder.

As the cost of all things are rising, things like college education are rising at a staggering rate with no rationality behind it, the degree is not worth any more, and wages are dropping or stagnating.

It is amazing how some support a system where the lives of most are getting harder and harder while the wealth of the society is growing at a fast rate.
