The Women's March and Linda Sarsour

...partially right ...

Let me be the first to admit that Derec is usually partially right. In fact, most people who are sane and wrong are also partially right. If people who are wrong happened to be completely wrong about everything they say in one of their wrong claims, then they'd be saying insane things and people wouldn't understand them. So, for example, if Derec were completely wrong about the Women's March, he'd be off in lalaland talking about how llamas are leaving our country Spain in droves. Instead, he was half right about a particular individual and mostly wrong about a movement. That's about on-par and average for a wrong person.

Could the bizarre alliance between feminism and islam finally be unraveling? I can't think of many alliances more detrimental to one of its parties.

I think you are the one more wrong than right. Not quite Llamas in Spain wrong, but close.
First, it's not one person, it's three of the leaders: Linda Sarsour, Tamika Mallory and Carmen Perez.
Second, the insanity was not limited to leadership. Remember this from 2017 march with rank and file attendees putting on the Hijab?

Derec, a hijab is a muslima's choice. It allows her to free herself from the male gaze and be treated as a human being and not a piece of meat. That makes it liberation, not oppression. It is a feminist icon.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ;)

The fallout from a damning exposé on the Women's March leaders published by Tablet continues, with The New York Times publishing a follow-up piece that echoes some of the key claims of anti-Semitism permeating the leadership of the organization. The latest blow to the embattled group comes from Barack Obama's hometown of Chicago, where the big annual Women's March event has just been canceled.

The Chicago Tribune reported Christmas day that Chicago Women's March organizers have canceled the march scheduled for January 19, which has drawn "hundreds of thousands of supporters to Grant Park in concert with similar marches across the globe" for the last two years. One of the reasons for the cancellation appears to be the internal turmoil resulting from accusations of anti-Semitism leveled at the group's leaders.

Mallory told the Times in response to claims from Wruble that she was pushed out because she was Jewish that since the group's early conversation about how to handle Jewish women, they still believe all white Jews uphold white supremacy by the very fact that they're white, but they've come to understand that all Jews are also targeted by anti-Semitism. "Since that conversation, we’ve all learned a lot about how while white Jews, as white people, uphold white supremacy, ALL Jews are targeted by it," said Mallory.

Sooooooooo...one of the primary focuses of the Women's March was to protest the bigotry and racism of the incoming Trump administration, but the movement now seems to be falling apart because of bigotry and racism by the leaders of the movement? :banghead:

How many here on this board are planning to attend the Women's March next month, and if so, how do you rationalize attending and supporting this event knowing there are bigots and racists running the show?

Nobody I know of who marched ever heard of those people. They weren't marching in their name.

The last time we discussed some of the organizers of the women's marches it was that they were, gasp, Marxists and that was reason enough to believe that the millions of women who participated would be better served by supporting Trump and his good people on both sides of the misogynist, racist and anti-Semitic divides.

And now this! Tiki torches for everyone!

Getting a little tired of people starting threads with a link or a video and then having everyone do some research to guess what the OP's point is. [/grumpyoldman]

(not just you LP)

Personally, and as a woman, I would just like to express just how grateful I am that all you nice menfolk have gone to so much trouble and research so that you can tell me and all the other ladies what to think and who to disapprove of. Your efforts are duly appreciated.

Nobody is telling you and the other ladies what to think and who to disapprove of. We're just presenting the facts. Its completely your choice as to what you want to think and who to disapprove of. I do hope you let your conscience be your guide, though.

So you don't care that a cause you support has been corrupted for evil purpose?

Not as long that fact is being pointed out by a man.

In other "Women's March" developments, a local march in California is being canceled because it is too white.
Calif. organizers cancel Women's March for being too white

Washington Times said:
Organizers of the Women’s March in Humboldt County, California, announced Friday that they have canceled the local Jan. 19 event because the marchers are overwhelmingly white.
In a Facebook statement, the group said it opted to nix the third annual march “after many conversations between local social-change organizations and supporters of the march,” saying they would work on how to “broaden representation in the organizing committee.”
[...]
Others pointed out that the Northern California community of about 137,000, located near the Oregon border, is predominantly white.
Census Bureau data from July showed that the county was about 74 percent non-Hispanic white, 12 percent Hispanic, 6 percent Native American, 2 percent Asian, and 1 percent black.
“I was appalled to be honest,” said Amy Sawyer Long. “I understand wanting a diverse group. However, we live in a predominantly white area … not to mention how is it beneficial to cancel? No matter the race people still want their voices heard.
Emphasis mine. What is this Amy Sawyer? Some kind of racist? ::confused2:

"The Resistance" has long since jumped the shark and become a parody of itself ...

The glue that seems to keep all the disparate groups on the left together is their shared hatred of White people.

I don't care what men decide about the moral purity of any woman's cause. And I feel the same about assumptions you make about me.

Yep, that's it. And on the right, the glue that holds it together is lack of anything remotely resembling reasoning beyond: They're not white/cis/straight/male/Republican. That and low IQ.

You care enough to post in this thread.
