I think this is ridiculous. They are a bunch of wanna-be larp revolutionaries, not the real thing. Their oppression studies degrees haven't equipped them to try to be autonomous. If you really want to set up your hippie commune you don't do it down town, you go out to where you can get large amounts of land for a very low price and set it up there. Some place like Idaho, like Ruby Ridge. Or you go to a remote area in Texas, like Waco.

Speaking of which, the fact that they haven't gotten a severe response is evidence that they aren't being taken seriously.

They aren't serious. They have no idea what they're doing. Their "demands" make it pretty clear.

The segregation going on in the CHAZ/CHOP is laughable.

These kids should be relieved that they aren't being taken seriously.

Mayor Durkan, Chief Best say Seattle police need to return to East Precinct

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan says the Seattle Police Department needs to return to the East Precinct to be able to respond to calls from the community.

During a news conference Monday, the mayor said SPD will return to the precinct, peacefully and in the near future.

“We have to make sure that any resident, any business, or any visitor that calls for help gets the help they need,” Durkan said.

They can't even agree on what CHOP stands for - Capitol Hill Organized Protest or Capitol Hill Occupied Protest. Truly a People's Front of Judea vs. Judean People's Front type of thing.

Yeah, they don't have a clue how to run a show.

Not much different than the GOP and Libertarians that have been proven wrong about how the Free Market can handle things as has been exposed by this pandemic crisis. Americans are underpaid which leads to being unable to save and weather a crisis like this. GOP policies for the last few decades, which the Democrats adopted as the nation really bought into the 'for less' mantra, required the Federal Government to sign off on trillions in emergency spending and protections in this crisis to ensure people didn't go hungry, get kicked out of their homes because they couldn't afford them, and the ability to receive Covid-19 related care. Of course, the right-wing and Libertarians will blame the people for their failures, but the system was never designed for sustainability of the average person, but to maximize stockholder value.

Broadband turned out to be a necessity after all and that reversal by the GOP again proven wrong, as in the 21st century, the ability to communicate and transmit decent amount of data became a necessity to allow schooling when the schools were closed.

The Covid-19 pandemic has proven the right-wing and libertarian philosophies have utterly failed the average American. Lack of sufficient income, access to health care, access to technology, and access to food. The US couldn't manage to handle two months without the Government having to spend Trillions to kind of cover the gap left by right-wing laissze faire economic policies that have become the norm in the US Economy. But I think it is cute that you want to pick on those people in Seattle because of their ignorance on policies and what not. It is adorable.

Which is why the government isn't doing anything about it--so long as it's not too bad simply let them make fools of themselves.
