Oh my. Sounds magnificent.
One idea I do like, being an originalist and all (if we can make it retroactive), Is the revered tradition of electing a male leader and then, if the plagues visit the land, or the rains don't come, the high priestess throws that leader into the bog.
Here's a funny/sad glimpse into the truly deluded nature of the New Republican Vision:

Rebecca Solnit

Rebranded white supremacy is blathering about Anglo-Saxons as it seeks to form an "America First" caucus. The Anglo-Saxons were invaders. Of Britain. Their heyday was known as the Dark Ages. The America First proclamation today: "America is a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions." Which Anglo-Saxon political traditions would they like to protect? Wikipedia: "An important racial belief system in late 19th- and early 20th-century British and US thought advanced the argument that the civilization of English-speaking nations was superior to that of any other nations because of racial traits and characteristics inherited from the Anglo-Saxon invaders of Britain."

But the actual Anglo-Saxons? History site: "When the Roman legions left Britain, the Germanic-speaking Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Frisians began to arrive – at first in small invading parties, but soon in increasing numbers. Initially they met little firm resistance from the relatively defenceless inhabitants of Britannia. Around 500 AD, however, the invaders were resisted fiercely by the Romano-British, who might have been led by King Arthur, if he existed – and there is no hard evidence that he did.

"The Celtic areas of Britain regarded the Saxons as enemies and foreigners on their borders: their name became Sassenachs to the Scottish and Saesneg to the Welsh. The various Anglo-Saxon groups settled in different areas of the country. They formed several kingdoms, often changing, and constantly at war with one another..... By 650 AD there were seven separate kingdoms."
Apparently these would-be Anglo-Saxons did not get As in English. The manifesto leaked today is full of sentences that amble all over the place: "The America First Caucus will work towards an infrastructure that reflects the architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that befits the progeny of European architecture, whereby public infrastructure must be utilitarian as well as stunningly, classically beautiful, befitting a world power and source of freedom."
Anglo-Saxon architecture: build wattle-and-daub pig pens? Thatch the White House? Wikipedia: "Anglo-Saxon secular buildings were normally rectangular post built structures, where timber posts were driven into the ground to form the framework of the walls upon which the thatched roofs were constructed. Only ten of the hundreds of settlement sites that have been excavated in England from this period have revealed masonry domestic structures and confined to a few quite specific contexts. The usual explanation for the tendency of Anglo–Saxons to build in timber is one of technological inferiority or incompetence. Even the elite had simple buildings, with a central fire and a hole in the roof to let the smoke escape and the largest of which rarely had more than one floor, and one room."

p.s. Heather Cox Richardson later tonight: “Anglo-Saxon” is an old-fashioned historical description that has become a dog whistle for white supremacy. Scholars who study the Medieval world note that visions of a historical “white” England are fantasies, myths that are set in an imaginary past.

This was a myth welcome to pre-Civil War white southerners who fancied themselves the modern version of ancient English lords and used the concept of “Anglo-Saxon” superiority to justify spreading west over Indigenous and Mexican peoples. It was a myth welcome in the 1920s to members of the Ku Klux Klan, who claimed that “only as we follow in the pathway of the principles of our Anglo-Saxon father and express in our life the spirit and genius of their ideals may we hope to maintain the supremacy of the race, and to perpetuate our inheritance of liberty.” And it is a myth that appeals to modern-day white supremacists, who imitate what they think are ancient crests for their clothing, weapons, and organizations.

The latest news on this is that Marjorie Taylor Greene has shut down the formation of this new caucus, which she initially supported, then backed away from, then supported, then disavowed association with. Of course (as with the Jewish Space Lasers thing) she blamed it all on "the media."

WHAAAT??
Damn. I was so looking forward to the wattle-and-daub pig pens.
In fact I was gong to start on one of these next week:

As though we're all going to just forget about it! Funny how they're always blaming "the media" for reporting on the things they do, without actually being able to deny that they've done them. It's almost like the media were just reporting the news, and the white supremacist faction of our government happens to be really bad news.

Go up to any Trump supporter and ask them about the history and culture of the Angles and they will know all about them.

"America is a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions."
Funny story about that. Pretty much all the political traditions of the British system of government that we inherited, valued, and chose to preserve through our Revolution, for the sake of the liberty they protect -- rule of law, trial by jury, limited government, separation of powers, elected representatives, yada yada -- were introduced after the Norman Invasion by the Anglo-Saxons' new French masters.

Trump loyalists start America First Caucus to promote ‘uniquely Anglo-Saxon’ ideas - The Washington Post - "Rep. Greene tries to distance herself from ‘America First Caucus’ document denounced as racist"
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday tried to distance herself from a document published by Punchbowl News that purportedly outlined the goals of a new “America First Caucus” being formed by Greene and other hard-right GOP lawmakers. The document had received blowback from Democrats and some Republicans for promoting nativist policies and perpetuating the falsehood that there was widespread fraud and corruption in the 2020 election.

On Saturday, Greene (R-Ga.) described the document as “a staff level draft proposal from an outside group” and claimed she had not read it. She blasted the media for “taking something out of context,” but did not specify to which policies in the document she objected.

However, Greene did not deny plans to start an “America First Caucus” and ended a lengthy Twitter thread by saying she supported former president Donald Trump’s “America First agenda.”
According to Punchbowl News, MTG and Rep. Paul Gosar are behind this new caucus. Also joining is Rep. Matt Gaetz: “We will end wars, stop illegal immigration & promote trade that is fair to American workers.”

It got a lot of criticism.

From Republicans:

Kevin McCarthy on Twitter: "America is built on the idea that we are all created equal and success is earned through honest, hard work.

It isn’t built on identity, race, or religion. The Republican Party is the party of Lincoln & the party of more opportunity for all Americans—not nativist dog whistles." / Twitter

Liz Cheney on Twitter: "Republicans believe in equal opportunity, freedom, and justice for all. We teach our children the values of tolerance, decency and moral courage. Racism, nativism, and anti-Semitism are evil. History teaches we all have an obligation to confront & reject such malicious hate." / Twitter

Adam Kinzinger on Twitter: "When Matt says he’s joining the white supremacy caucus: (link)" / Twitter
(low on a Surprise-o-Meter)
Matt Gaetz on Twitter: "I’m proud to join @mtgreenee in the #AmericaFirst Caucus.

We will end wars, stop illegal immigration & promote trade that is fair to American workers.

This is just a hit piece from the America Last crowd in Big Media, Big Tech & Big Government. (link)" / Twitter

From Democrats:

Senator Bob Casey on Twitter: "This is blatantly racist." / Twitter

Eric Swalwell on Twitter: "I’m not joining the GQP’s White Supremacy Caucus. But I need your help to defeat it. Make a $10 contribution and you have my word I’ll do all I can to root this out of Congress. Join me here: (link)" / Twitter

Ted Lieu on Twitter: "Dear @mtgreenee and @RepGosar: As an immigrant, I served on active duty in the US military to defend your right to say stupid stuff. What makes America great is that we don’t judge you based on bloodline, we look at your character. So take your nativist crap and shove it." / Twitter

Biden Revokes Trump Orders Including Review Of Funding To ‘Anarchist Jurisdictions’
The memo pointed to liberal enclaves like Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C., and New York City as “lawless zones” that “permit anarchy, violence, and destruction,” part of the “law and order” message Trump seized on as part of his reelection campaign.

Biden also revoked a “midnight” executive order Trump signed shortly before the end of his term requiring “democratic accountability” in regulations passed by agencies, meaning they would be subject to approval by Senate-confirmed officers rather than career bureaucrats.

Another Trump executive order revoked by Biden would have prohibited certain modern architectural styles, such as brutalism, for federal buildings, in favor of classical styles like Georgian, Greek Revival and Art Deco.

Biden revoked a proclamation that restricted immigration during the Covid-19 pandemic for the sake of the U.S. economy, which Biden said “does not advance the interests of the United States,” but rather “harms the United States."
Yes, Trump issued an executive order on architectural styles.

Trump Discourages Brutalist Federal Buildings With New Executive Order
According to the executive order, federal building designs should feature “beautiful” classical architecture, naming Neoclassical, Georgian, Greek Revival and Art Deco styles specifically.

The order’s language connects classic influences on buildings like the White House and the Capitol Building with the roots of democracy in Ancient Greece and Rome, stating the buildings remind Americans “not only of their rights but also their responsibilities in maintaining and perpetuating its institutions.”

The executive order specifically takes aim at brutalism, a practical architectural design that gained popularity after World War II and was heavily employed in communist countries in Europe.
Brutalism is blocky bare concrete. Neoclassical and Greek-Revival styles have those stone pillars like what's in ancient Greco-Roman architecture.

So that's what the America First Caucus has in mind.

I'll now fisk that platform document.

Early in it, it states that "a certain intellectual boldness is needed amongst members of the AFC to follow in President Trump’s footsteps, and potentially step on some toes and sacrifice sacred cows for the good of the American nation." So they are a bunch of Trumpies.

Its first section is on "Election Fraud".
Recent election results demonstrate a compromised integrity of our elections and made our election system a subject of global mockery. Across the country federal elections have been undermined by using voting machines that are readily compromised and illegally accessed whereby results appear manipulated, voters are disenfranchised, and faith in our system eroded.

Mail-in voting, long recognized as subject to fraud, has become normalized. We will work towards an end to mail-in voting, implementation of national voter ID and substantive investigations into mass voter fraud perpetrated during the 2020 election.
Except that mail-in voting has hardly any fraud, certainly not the amounts of fraud needed to elected Biden rather than Trump last year.

As to voter ID, I think that the US ought to have a national ID card that everybody would have. It would serve as voter ID, though I think that the voter-ID crowd would prefer some special voter ID that can be made much easier for Republicans to get than Democrats.

"Sovereignty"

"We will work to divest power from the federal government and give it back to the states and the people to restore the balance of federalism." With the exception of states doing things that right-wingers dislike, of course.

"Big Tech"
Silicon Valley tech firms have become the most powerful arbiters of information in the history of mankind. The treasure trove of data they have collected from Americans have given them powers that would make a Soviet dictator blush. We have seen these powers weaponized and deployed against conservatives in recent years, even as Big Tech firms continue to allow terrorists and pedophiles to organize and publish on their platforms. This represents an egregious offense against the First Amendment and the values enshrined within it. The America First Caucus is calling for a solution that starts with reform of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
I have a hard time taking right-wingers' anti-capitalist arguments seriously, when right-wingers loudly defend the right of the capitalist elite to do whatever it wants, no matter how criminal and immoral it might be. They make arguments that if one doesn't like one's employer than one can always look for another job, that if one doesn't like some company's products then one does not have to buy those products, that the capitalist elite is a bunch of super hardworking Stakhanovites who have earned their elite positions, that that elite is a bunch of "job creators", etc. etc. etc.

Because according to their usual arguments about capitalism they are lazy whiners who want to steal from the most productive people, who want government jackboots on their throats, who want to turn their nation into Venezuela, etc. etc. etc.

"Immigration"

"America is a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions."
How did they figure that out?

Then grumbling about immigration of large numbers of people, not just illegal but also legal. They stated that "certain economic
and financial interest groups benefit immensely from mass immigration", and as with Big Tech, i don't buy that anti-capitalist posturing.

They also want rejection of birthright citizenship, chain migration, and birth tourism. Yes, there are pregnant women from places like Russia and China who visit the US so that they can give birth here, thus giving their children American citizenship.

"Infrastructure"

About Federal-building architecture, they want "an infrastructure that reflects the architectural, engineering and aesthetic value that befits the progeny of European architecture, whereby public infrastructure must be utilitarian as well as stunningly, classically beautiful, befitting a world power and source of freedom"

Then about the only positive note:

"Infrastructure is one of the few areas where the federal government should exercise its constitutional authority. ... Dilapidated roads and bridges should be rebuilt, dams and wastewater plants must be secured, borders secured, drinking water systems improved, amongst other much needed additional investments. The America First Caucus knows that these projects impact the daily lives of American citizens."

Yeah I find their arguments about business to be completely contradiictory and incoherent. Praising the unrestrained exercise of a corporte right in one breath and then condemning the same actions with the next breath.

The only filter that reconciles the incoherence is the “Me ME ME” filter.

Greco-fucking Roman???
Have you seen those people? They're WAY off-white, and most of them belong to the mafia.

It is populism (right-wing). Populism is rarely forged with intelligence. It means well in left-wing populism and means nationalistic bigotry in right-wing populism, but both are rooted firmly in ignorance and misconception.

I read a recent article (Politico, IIRC) about the growing rift between corporate and the right wing. The Zoom call with 100 CEOs was mentioned, and the thrust is that while most of the CEOs are Republicans, they're also businessmen, and division is bad for business. The sports leagues like MLB and the NFL, along with companies like Nike and "big tech" realize that it's more profitable to appeal to a diverse, inclusive audience rather than the "us vs them" crowd. If the company is publicly traded, then all that Wall Street cares about is quarterly and year over year growth. Division doesn't help a company grow.

Let them define themselves further into minority status. They'll find out that point-shaving with voter ID laws won't quite bridge the gap. The Angry Old White folks are getting picked off by age, coronary artery disease, tobacco, and going maskless into the world.
Marjorie? She couldn't move to an Otis Redding record if you put a cattle prod up her keister. (I'm imagining 'Scratch My Back' off The Soul Album.) But Kamala? She'd rock that thing.
