Merged So what's next for Trump?

Andrew McCabe, fired by Trump, gets pension back

(CNN)Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who had been fired hours before his retirement as then-President Donald Trump's political furor toward him grew, has settled a lawsuit with the Justice Department, allowing him to officially retire and to recoup hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and his pension.

Out of all the nastiness of Trump's term (ONLY term, please, Zeus), his treatment of McCabe has got to be the pettiest piece of just plain squalid meanness. What level of discernment does it take to learn what Trump did to McCabe (including needling him about providing for his family, if I remember rightly) and to realize how unfit Trump is for any position of power?

Trump Shares His Thoughts On Golden Showers In Bonkers Off-Script Moment
The pee-pee tape is still very much on his mind.

Former President Donald Trump went off on a bizarre tangent on Thursday where he denied enjoying “golden showers” and even suggested that former first lady Melania Trump would agree it’s not something he’d like.

“I’m not into golden showers,” Trump said unprompted in a private speech at the National Republican Senatorial Committee retreat, according to The Washington Post. “You know the great thing, our great first lady — ‘That one,’ she said, ‘I don’t believe that one.’”

Trump was referring to one of the most salacious allegations in the unverified dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele: the existence of a so-called “pee-pee tape.” The dossier claimed that Trump, while staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow in 2013, hired prostitutes to perform a golden showers show on the hotel bed, where then-President Barack Obama had previously stayed.

I wonder if a certain tape is about to come out.

Knowing his stupidity could it be he didn't know what golden showers are and was expecting real gold? :)

A frequent theme on Trump threads is the idea that Trump didn't create the GOP we see now, he just picked up on the tensions and resentments that were already there. A lot of truth in that, although I would add that Trump intensified the malevolence to a degree that no one else in the 2016 GOP primary field would have. He is also more unethical (and far less educated) than any of those wanna-be's (possible exception:Rick Perry, who seems to be on the same cognitive ice floe as Trump, that is, adrift in ignorance.)
I'm reading The Wrecking Crew: How Conservatives Rule by Thomas Frank, a good, concise read, with a nuanced style that reminds me of Garry Wills. He says of the Right: "This is a movement that adores bullies, that cheers their bullying slogans at its conventions, that longs for a bully mean enough put the weaklings back in their place forever, that has lionized bullies from Joe McCarthy to Westbrook Pegler to Bill O'Reilly to Gdeorge Allen to Michelle Malkin..."
The book came out 8 years before the rise of Trump, and doesn't mention him once.

A top GOP committee sent a message accusing supporters who hadn't donated of being traitors: 'You abandoned Trump.'

A top GOP committee dedicated to electing Republicans to the House of Representatives is taking an adversarial approach to some of its recent fundraising attempts.

The National Republican Congressional Committee sent a fundraising message this month threatening supporters who had not yet donated, calling them a "traitor," The Washington Post reported.

"You abandoned Trump," a text version of the message said. "We were told you were a tried & true, lifelong patriot."

"But when Trump said he'd run for President if we took back the House from Nancy Pelosi...You did nothing. Was Trump wrong about you?" the statement asked.

Alienating your supporters. Great idea, keep it up.

He told them on 1/6 that if they didn't fight like hell, they wouldn't have a country anymore. I guess he wants to see carbines, not Moon Pies, in their chubby white hands.

Unfortunately, he also said that if he lost in 2020, we'd never hear from him again.

Trump ends up the villain in a new Chucky October sequel: Chucky vs. Clownstick

Florida Man sues Jan 6 committee.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/18/tru...-records-from-jan-6-riot-probe-committee.html

He's riffing off his previous win against Congress, Fuckstick vs. The Tax Probe, saying this is a broad probe, a fishing expedition.
...to which SCOTUS said there are bennies to being THE SITTING PRESIDENT, but agreed that Congress has wide powers of probing in their investigations.

If SCOTUS still pretends their own precedent matters, this should be quick...

Trump deposed under oath

The suit alleges that Trump's security guards assaulted six people outside Trump Tower in New York while they were protesting Trump's derogatory comments about Mexico and Mexican immigrants.
Lawyers for the protesters, who are of Mexican origin, wanted to question Trump to determine whether he should be held responsible for the misconduct.

Of course the question on the tip of everyone's tongue - how many lies did he tell under oath, how many times did he invoke "the fifth" and most of all; will he ever be held to account for the actions alleged in the suit OR for lying about it?

If he lives long enough (unlikely) we may some day see an outcome to this, and the ten or so other civil suits pending against the fraudster-in-chief (a title I believe he still holds).

What’s next for Drumpf? Just being repulsive some more.

Christ, i have seen more respect from eyewitnesses at the execution of a serial killer...

Apparently he's launching yet another social media hustle:

https://thehill.com/homenews/media/577712-trump-announces-new-social-media-network-called-truth

How long before this one turns into a cesspool of conspiracy theorists, parody accounts and child pornography distributors like the ones before it? If it gets off the ground at all, that is.

Why should any of that matter? The intent is simply to profit. Orange is only and always after the money. There is no desire to produce something useful or constructive or that has social value which in turn produces personal wealth. It's a different profit model entirely.
