'Been there done that' comparison - seeing it then as you do now (back in my agnostic days). Jumping years forward, I say briefly, I took a look at the bible again and from what I read, and studies from others before me.. I now understood 'what should have been obvious', is the great emphasis on...

Admirably you've studied ever so hard for that moment to be presenting your case winner. It just needs the Creo to fall into this particular angle of debate. Look no further Elixir, this is the religion section of the forum.🙂 I believe Godditit, etc & etc.

Loki doesn't have a validator like Jesus is to God, does he? Obviously if we're considering Jesus existed of course.

So you say to yourself. Bedsides, I took the 'lets focus..' line from what you wanted to do yourself in your previous relating post. That's the idea I was alluding to when I was sarcastically saying: "let's focus on the smarmy rhetoricals"and so on. Thanks for reporting. Yes well, using...

To all believers it's a private belief, yet they believe in the same thing regarding God of the bible. What is evidence for them doesn't necessarily mean the already-set-in-mind atheists would see things in the same way, which is often the case. Science doesn't conflict with their beliefs as...

Snap. I was just thinking that about some atheists. Nice one, let's focus and argue particularly on the 'smarmy retoricals' instead, but not acknowledge the NASA scientist (stock-in-trade?).

Now now Don2, you know how it goes. You'd be asked about the evidence for that.

In Genesis the plants were created before the sun moon and stars

The light of stars can be seen instantly depending on where you're located in the world. Like for example I see stars instantly clear when I'm in the country-side, but not so much when I'm in the City, due to the artificial light illuminations at night. It's a valid enough thought, although the...

    Persons named in the Gospels

A thoughtful investigative perspective for the sake of curiosity (and not for the sake of debating). As a believer I would still find this interesting and engaging to read - seeing what interesting suggested explanations are brought to the topic table from various povs. (It would certainly...

Yes, you're simply agreeing with this fellow below. Michael O'Connell. (He has a book out that's now on my list) Psalm 19:1. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. (eventually)

Many believers are used to the charge. The writers understood nature and it's cycles. Understanding various plants grow in various seasons. They understood that without the sun and rain, they wouldn't live or grow. To convince (or convert) the reader by putting the plants before the sun in the...

Some believers apply here the verse which says: one day is like a thousand days to God etc, but .. Genesis literally says days. Morning, evening, days and nights so yeah,to be consistent with the context of the theology... it would be quite a doddle for an Almighty God!

I don't go by your 'reduction' of God illustration: the"simply another aspect of nature..etc". That would be a no. In terms of God being the source & creator of nature itself - this portrays a different perspective i.e. God can not be restrictively bound by his creation etc.

Language is necessary in any dialogue between individuals. Stating the obvious: individuals speaking the same language is key for mutual conversational understanding.
