Our OP seems to be more obsessed with the crossroad to empowerment than even bothering to lead anyone anywhere.

Or to put it more bluntly, Buzz wants to have power so he can be a dick to people he feels have "wronged" him in some way. Like Trump, his desire to get into politics is one for power and revenge.
Kinda makes me wonder what damage was done to him when he was younger to make him so bitter and angry. When I was 24 (with a media degree and a few jobs under my belt) I just wanted to pursue the dream I had when I found out that the people on the radio actually did that for a living. Not too long after, I wound up doing just that. It was fun, and I even got to be a little famous...signing autographs, dating women I'd never have been able to when I was a nerdy high school kid, and getting to hang out backstage with rock stars.
Then I found out that - to paraphrase Stan Lee - with a little fame comes a little responsibility. I used my "power" to help people. To raise money for a shelter for abused women. To raise money for a children's hospital. To help get guns off the street in our community. To support causes and use the 100 thousand watts of the radio station as a tool for good rather than just a way for me to get laid. Working with community leaders and charitable groups to improve the lives of the people who stopped me in the street or at the mall to say they were a fan. Because I had a responsibility to them that was more than just giving them some music and entertainment to get them through their morning commute.
Buzz just wants to get power so he can pass laws against people he doesn't like.
