What are some positions you would recommend I have before I run for congress?

Our OP seems to be more obsessed with the crossroad to empowerment than even bothering to lead anyone anywhere.

Or to put it more bluntly, Buzz wants to have power so he can be a dick to people he feels have "wronged" him in some way. Like Trump, his desire to get into politics is one for power and revenge.

Kinda makes me wonder what damage was done to him when he was younger to make him so bitter and angry. When I was 24 (with a media degree and a few jobs under my belt) I just wanted to pursue the dream I had when I found out that the people on the radio actually did that for a living. Not too long after, I wound up doing just that. It was fun, and I even got to be a little famous...signing autographs, dating women I'd never have been able to when I was a nerdy high school kid, and getting to hang out backstage with rock stars.

Then I found out that - to paraphrase Stan Lee - with a little fame comes a little responsibility. I used my "power" to help people. To raise money for a shelter for abused women. To raise money for a children's hospital. To help get guns off the street in our community. To support causes and use the 100 thousand watts of the radio station as a tool for good rather than just a way for me to get laid. Working with community leaders and charitable groups to improve the lives of the people who stopped me in the street or at the mall to say they were a fan. Because I had a responsibility to them that was more than just giving them some music and entertainment to get them through their morning commute.

Buzz just wants to get power so he can pass laws against people he doesn't like.

Definitely sounds like you were a leader - and one I'd follow.

Like Trump, his desire to get into politics is one for power and revenge.
He definitely has some trumpian qualities; bottomless vitriol, semi-literacy, self pity, lack of empathy, claims to a college education that is not evidenced by any knowledge or skills, hair trigger temper... all prerequisites for following in the orange footsteps, assuming he has footsteps and is not just an expression of sloppy programmers' whims.
I'm afraid though, that his chances for political success are far less than Trump's. About a half billion inherited dollars less, in today's money.
If Buzz is in fact corporeal, his first step to realizing The Fascist Dream would be to inherit a half billion $$. Without that, my bet is he's dead in the water, politically speaking. Hell, even Trump, who DID inherit that much, is unlikely to end up anywhere but in jail.

:staffwarn:

Tangential discussions on MIlitary Service as fitness for elected office and the origin story of the USA have been split to their own threads.

Also - delete the insults before you post them, please. They create clean-up work and you know better.

I disagree as your right I did not inherit 413 million dollars from my parents like Trump and don't have that kind of money.

However I don't believe I am dead in the water politically speaking as Ron Desantis did not inherit hundreds of millions from his parents and he ran for president.

You don't have to inherit money from your parents like Trump to have a huge voice politically. Donors are where you can get money from and that's the difference.

Sounds like you already know what you think you need to have a successful run at office and you don’t need us at all, then. Hope it goes great. Thoughts and Prayers.

Indeed, with all the uselessness that thoughts and prayers convey.

Nor did MTG, Santos, or Boebert.

I thought @Elixir post rather stupid myself.

Hey, tell me about it when Rhonda Santis, George Santos or Madge becomes President!

This is all you will ever do no politician in congress will ever know who you are. All you will do is just hate on other people why you actually do nothing.

This is the extent to how far you will ever get in politics. Hating on other people all day online why you do nothing. You will never run for office

That tells me everything I need to know.
As opposed to, what? The eight "top goals" you announced on another of your threads, on September 10? Six of your 'goals' involved turning the state into a bully boy to move against the LGBTQs. That's a powerful lot of hate. Try ignoring people who aren't like you, instead of obsessing about them. Better yet, you might try to imagine how animus feels when it's directed at a group you perceive as the 'out group'. You know, ranting about LGBTQs and trying to exclude them from public life doesn't change the fact that they're here, they've always been here, and they deserve to live happy lives like anyone else. I really hope you go nowhere with this dream you say you have of getting into government (STILL not convinced that's genuine.) You have declared in your goals list -- what a Statement of Principles that is! -- that you want to interfere with others' lives and belittle them, as a career. Get over yourself. Also, it is goddamn time for you to learn Your/You're. At least learn that. The stuff about gender and sexuality...probably too complex.

You have never ran or won anything in politics before in your life.

Oh look. A copy and paste of the same response.

Over and over again. From the person who has never ran or won anything in politics before in their life.

You're just some person typing behind a screen that will never have any power or run for any office.
Neither have you.

These are word for word the same responses to previous challenges to Buzz's assertions. Literally copy and pasted. The online equivalent of "I know what you are, but what am I?"

If Buzz was in a field when the sun came up over the hill, he'd turn to stone.

Your pathetic that's exactly why you will never run for office or ever be apart of politics.

Thoughts and Prayers.

Politicians in Congress already know who I am. It doesn’t make me any better than you or worse than you. But it makes your statements (your rants) into a measure of how far you need to go - without you having an interest in learning how to get there.

Thoughts and Prayers, Buzz. Good luck in achieving a goal that requires some introspection and self-review.

You have never ran or won anything in politics before in your life.
If you use the past tense “ran”, the word “have” is extraneous. The proper form using the word have, would be “you have never run for office”. There’s a big difference, as “you have never run” implies one timeframe and “you never ran” often implies another. Both could be true, but “you have never ran” is just wordy and dorky sounding.
Is English not your native tongue?

I am wondering what are some positions you would recommend that I have before I run for congress?

Like what type of resume should I be building up and having before I run for congress?

What would a strong resume look like before I run for congress?
Just make up a resume like George Santos and hope you don’t get caught.
Your so pathetic all you do is sit here and troll people posting unhelpful comments just to try to get a rise out of me. It's actually really sad and pathetic.
And here we go again. You ask for advice, people give you advice, and you shit on them.
He's not giving me advice he's just trolling. Dude has no business commenting on my post. I'm straight sick of this guy tbh. Wish he wouldn't respond to my post and would just leave completely tbh.

I hate when he responds want nothing to do with this dude honestly.
Just because you don't like his advice doesn't mean it's wrong.

Neither of you are moderators, you're free to use the ignore function if you want. I will caution you that if you attempt to go that route you'll probably end up putting most people on ignore and not getting much of any response.

I don't know where your coming to these conclusions man. That's not true I have a good work ethic I understand public office and service.
You think you understand.

I'm thinking of a couple of older guys (but I consider myself and older guy also) I encountered I think about 5 years ago. They thought they understood--yeah, the route is entirely class 1, just one foot in front of the other. 10 miles, close to 4,000' of climb to a summit at 11,000' is brutal for those not used to it--but by itself simply an unpleasant experience. Their lack of understanding of the conditions they were heading into was quite another matter. Half a mile ahead the wind would go from pretty much nothing to probably a fresh breeze or even a strong breeze. They had no food, only ice in the water bottles, no extra clothes (and were already chilly), no maps (the trail was obvious by day), no lights, cell service was spotty at best. I was also probably the last person they would have seen that day. Had I not gotten them turned around I would have given search and rescue a heads-up when I got down--but I suspect they would have only found bodies.
