We have always believed them about their intent. Where we find them utterly wrong is with their supposed facts.

They were extreme enough to overturn Roe v Wade, give the president powers of immunity (which is nowhere in the Constitution), so those are a couple reasons I find it extremely unreasonable to be skeptical of Project 2025. And they have all branches of government now, there is basically nothing stopping the religious fundamentalists from getting what they want. How in the world is it impossible? The idea that it's impossible is totally nonsensical.

Then some one explained they are the same thing, and the guy angrily responds ‘why are there two names for it?’ Blaming democrats of course

Can’t prove many of these stories are real, but they do sound plausible

Years ago, before Trump I think, some conservative was protesting to "Keep the government out of my Medicare!!"

I'd welcome a blue tidal wave after the ACA is killed by the GOP and people realize that Obamacare and ACA were the same thing, and they get pissed at the GOP for killing it.

America elected W. 9/11 and Iraq appending failure later... re-elected him. So, this whole Trump thing isn't quite as unprecedented as some might think.

At the time of Bush II election (2004) his wars weren't in the dumpster and the Republicans were still riding the economic bubble of their insane domestic policies.

Once all that crashed, the Republicans had left the country in such a deep hole that a black kid from Chicago could waltz away from the rich, experienced, white, war hero Republican candidate.

Iraq was already roughly one year longer than advertised, "Christmas... tops". Goodness help me, I can't find that quote.

It was one of the reasons the GOP needed to Swift Boat Vet Kerry. The economy wasn't that good and W's approval ratings were poor.

In America these days, I'll take what I can get. If ax'ing ACA drops the House to the Dems in a tidal wave as people start fucking caring again, fine. I hope the ACA survives though or is made stronger. I know that under the GOP it won't be made stronger. Abortion ban could be bigger though. The results in the states were generally very much in approval of it. Not certain what the GOP would consider.

The 2026 Senate Map has a lot of GOP seats up for re-election, but only a couple in states where one would expect competition. Granted, Secretary spot openings could provide an opening here and there. But if 60% of the populace is for abortion rights and there is a ban, maybe finally the electorate votes in their interests.

I almost started a thread to address this question. Although I'm a self-diagnosed autist I can often assess character better than some others. Just watching Trump for a few minutes makes it clear to me that he is severely flawed, and far too disgusting to consider for the POTUS job.

Are the millions of Americans who voted for him really so crippled when it comes to assessing character?

I mentioned before that my sister left a town she loved (near California's "gold country") because she was surrounded by Trump lovers.

Although I do keep renewing my blue passport, for decades expats and tourists are the only Americans I've seen. I avoid them, preferring to seek friendship with almost any other nationality. On a few occasions where I did glimpse the political "thinking" of an American expat or tourist, I was horrified by their breathtaking ignorance.

The damage Trump and his fascist enablers will do to America is enormous Only in a dysfunctional democracy could Trump have come to power at all. Expect what remains of democratic principles and procedures to be deliberately eroded over the next four years.
