Are people already regretting their choice?

I think we’re about to discover that Trumpsuckers have a surprising level of pain tolerance when it’s inflicted by their own chosen leaders. Especially when those leaders demonstrate their surpassing skill at blaming Democrats for it.

I wish that the coming pain would be sufficient to arouse ‘Murkinz from their cult stupor. But human nature is such that rather than seek relief, they will lash out at those who are pointed out as the cause of that pain - pointed out by the cult leader who is actually causing it.

If you've been on board for Trump for any length of time, you're probably watching Fox or One America, or tuning in to some god-awful podcast that I've never heard of. It's possible to walk and talk like a "normal" person, and to have an entirely reality-free assessment of the country. Just look at the batshit crazy stuff Trump says on the rally stage -- do you hear any "Huh??"s from the faithful? Those li'l monkeys who are on the bleachers behind him are grinning like first graders getting cake at a party. They're having the time of their lives, and there's no need to do any independent thinking to get in that line.

They're having the time of their lives
Why should they give up that feeling?
Seriously.
Gee, I dunno. Speech and reproductive rights for the rest of us? Support for Ukraine? A guy with the nuke codes who doesn't have the temperament of a cranky 3-year-old who didn't get his nap?? Let them get that special feelin' out of a can of Bud at a tailgate party.

With the election a done deal, looking over the documentation of Trump's "plans" is an unfortunate neccessity right now. Certainly my colleagues and I in higher ed have been pouring through his nonsense, trying to deduce how much and whether his new policies will affect the coming academic year....

Pouring what? Your tears? Erasing fluid? The contents of a witches' cauldron? If I still lived in any of the Fifty States I might be tempted to pour whiskey down my throat, or something stronger!

Verb
pore

From Middle English poren, pouren, puren (“to gaze intently, look closely”), from Old English *purian, suggested by Old English spyrian (“to investigate, examine”). Akin to Middle Dutch poren (“to pore, look”), Dutch porren (“to poke, prod, stir, encourage, endeavour, attempt”), Low German purren (“to poke, stir”), Danish purre (“to poke, stir, rouse”), dialectal Swedish pora, pura, påra (“to work slowly and gradually, work deliberately”), Old English spor (“track, trace, vestige”). Compare also Middle English puren, piren (“to look, peer”). See peer.
My apologies.

That's higher ed for ya. 😞 Proving Trump should shut it all down!

Nah, just standard issue dyslexia and not enough time to edit posts carefully. Your average Poli forum post is a paragon of brilliant prose -poetic, at times- carefully hidden within a veritable see of type Os, homophobes, and mallard propisms.
What the duck?

Trump's pro-Israel cabinet picks upset Muslims who voted for him
Reuters said:
"Trump won because of us and we're not happy with his secretary of state pick and others," said Rabiul Chowdhury, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump.
Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and may have factored into other swing state wins, strategists believe.
[...]
Rexhinaldo Nazarko, executive director of the American Muslim Engagement and Empowerment Network (AMEEN), said Muslim voters had hoped Trump would choose cabinet officials who work toward peace, and there was no sign of that.
"We are very disappointed," he said.
"It seems like this administration has been packed entirely with neoconservatives and extremely pro-Israel, pro-war people, which is a failure on the on the side of President Trump, to the pro-peace and anti-war movement."

to be fair, it’s not like anyone could ever have predicted this.

I think these Muslim Americans are full of shit. They're complaining is for optics.
Stand with the rational, predictive candidate or stand with the vindictive candidate?
Ever hear of hedging your bet?
Yes, they like others with skin in the game went with the vindictive asshole just in case because with Trump as a candidate, it is not enough to simply throw money at both sides, with Trump it's loyalty, loyalty, loyalty.
"When you can't command their respect, demand their loyalty."

The “how something looks like” is a clear tell for me of a non-native English (American at least) speaker.

It’s “how something looks” or “what something looks like”. The “like” only goes with “what”, not “how”.

Though I’m sure in two seconds some native English speaker will come on to post how I am wrong. But I have only heard “like” with “how” from foreigners.

Yeah, sounds like the sort of thing a Russian might say, if his English was very good, but not native fluency.

Well, Trump didn't win because of them, but that did appear to make the difference in Michigan after a flurry of targeted advertising. Oh boy, there is likely going to be a good number of people that voted for Trump that aren't going to be happy.

Personally, I think it'd be best if they kept it to themselves, else risk getting slapped upside the head.
