Biden sounds exactly like Trump.

Apparently the law does not sappy to all as Biden said of Trump and family.

When I said ijn the past Biden was as corrupt as any other politicians Biden suppresses shouted me down.

Hunter was clearly peddling political influence. As VP Biden called into a corporate meeting in Ukraine speakng to the people, Hunter being p[resent.

Hunter Biden's only qualification for his paid corporate position in Ukraine was being the son of Joe Biden.

Biden has opened the door wide for Trump to pardon anyone. He pardoned Hunter for any future uncharged crimes.

Fuck Biden, just another rich guy above the law. Despite his proclamations of rule of law he is as amoral as Trump.

I must be blind. But that's irrelevant.
It was necessary to restrain Trump from pillorying his son. That's why it's a BLANKET pardon - to keep Cheato's goons from making shit up.
No, Sleepy Joe is nothing like Trump. If he was, The Felon, Don Jr and Eric would all be in jail.

What is the law that prevents pardoning family members?

Hunter Biden was prosecuted for alleged crimes that millions of Americans engaged in without being charged. It was a political witchhunt, not justice, so rightfully President Biden has pardoned him. Also, there was all the nonsense about the laptop that was in illegal possession of several people including Giuliani, for which he should have been prosecuted.

For the last time, Hunter Biden wasn't peddling influence at Burisma. Burisma was dealing with a great deal of issues with corporate malfeasance. They needed to clean house to make them a viable destination for foreign money. Hunter Biden was one of a number of useless window dressing folks being named to the board to whitewash their corruption. They used Hunter Biden (US VP's son) to make things look above the board) This shit was known when it was happening, but for whatever reason the GOP didn't give as much a fuck over the morally dubious hiring of Hunter Biden until a decade later.

What in the fuck are you talking about!? This pardon was more about protecting Hunter Biden from being a political toy for the Trump "Justice" Department than anything else. I'd rather the conviction not have been pardoned, Trump is vindictive enough that he would have aimed at Hunter Biden just for the fuck of it, so the remainder of the pardon isn't out of line.

If you are going to skull fuck hyperbole, please do it in the privacy of your own home.

Yep. I'll answer my question to Steve below, there is no law forbidding pardoning a family member. There also is no law against hiring a son of a famous and or influential man. Now, if there is a some kind of quid pro regarding Biden granting a business favor to Hunter's former company, I'm interested. If not, I'm tired of hearing about it. Republicans have had 4 years to find something. And they got shit....

The pardon may not mean much since Trump can just reverse it in his next term. Yeah Biden has "immunity" now but so does Trump, so all that's going to happen is the pardon is going to be overridden because Trump will have absolute power and no one gives a shit.

Yeah, Hunter was convicted on tax evasion and lying on a federal background check. Trump has basically side-stepped background checks for his entire cabinet, his own son in law lied on his repeatedly, and now he's nominated a convicted felon family member as a US Ambassador.

Come to think of it, I can't recall any of Trump's previous pardons that were actually correcting an injustice. Just him letting his buddies/bribers off the hook.

A pardon can be reversed? I did not know that. How does that work if Hunter's pardon is reversed by Trump? Does that mean Hunter is back into legal jeapordy again with his conviction?

Another question after reading this thread I am wondering about now. If a president pardons a family member for any and all crimes he could ever be charged with, what happens if Hunter goes out and kills someone? Can Hunter now break any and all laws and still stay out of prison?

Personally I have mixed feeling over this. For those of you who do feel it is proper to pardon Hunter you should be equally eager to see Trump giving out any pardons for the Jan 6 rioters. Because both are excellent examples of highly politically influenced prosecutions. One can not agree with one without being in favor of the other.

No. Want to ask an intelligent question next?

That'd be a false equivalence. Also, I don't believe you have "mixed feelings" either. Personally, I have mixed feelings, I think this could have been done better, allowing existing convictions to stick and vindictive prosecutions be squashed before they even begin.
Both examples are politically influenced prosecutions to a high degree.
If I go to your place of work and cause the building to be evacuated, I'm going to jail. And you don't even work at the US Capitol Building!

Bullshit.
The January 6 insurrection was an attack on the whole USA. The prosecutions, which there were far too few of, was my country protecting itself from violent enemies.
Nothing like the Hunter Biden prosecutions.
Tom

Show me the video of Hunter breaking windows, storming into the Capitol building, and spreading shit on the walls.

I'll wait.

But many who have been charged have been waiting in prison without going to trial. People who were not really doing anything but being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It may seem worse to see a physical building being rioted but the damage from internal corruption can be just as bad if not worse.

Yeah, some guy from Montana just accidentally showed up in DC on a very specific day dressed in camo and carrying a Trump flag happened to be arrested and is being unfairly prosecuted. Really?

Really?

I guess you missed the part where the internal corruption (Trump's legal team seeking to overthrow the legitimate election results) happened. The part where he said he didn't care that he lost, but demanded to stay in office anyway. Did you miss that part?

I answered the question. "No" was the answer. You quoted it.
