How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

As an aside, this is why it's so important to protect the press in our country. Barbos and probably a great deal of Russians really believe that Nato invaded Russia in 2014; and that we are all Nazis. This whole war, and a potential WW3 could be based on one person, Putin, making his people believe in a lunatic conspiracy.

If barbos' posts are representative for the mainstream Russian viewpoint, then the hope for an eventually de-Putinized, peaceful, and democratic Russia feels completely in vain for the foreseeable future.

You do realize that you sound as if YOU started this war becasue you wanted to make Russia more democratic?
Is that the real reason?

Yes, Russia is not as democratic as I would like it to be. But I have a bridge to sell you if you think Europe/US are substantially better when it comes to democracy.

We're not, as a matter of convenience, throwing people out of windows... that I know of.
 
Another comparison to Hitler.

In the news Russia is training school kids to operate military drones. Russia is running out of people and now it is kids.

Hitler had his Hitler Youth. In of his final final acts of desperation he put uniforms on kids, gave them a rifle, and sent them into combat.

How brain dead and full of hatred one has to be to interpret an ordinary school patriotic activity like that?
Yes Russia has lost 20 million men to 30 thousands of Ukrainian soldier and preparing to send children.

Meanwhile Trump administration double down gas-lighting Russia into capitulation. Pathetic!
Having said that, russian army does appear to have a group of drone operators consisting of young men recruited from gamers community. They control drones murdering your beloved nazis from ...... Moscow.
They are not kids, they are highly skilled drone operators which tend to be rare among 40 year-olds.
