How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Seriously dude, your army sucks.
US Army veterans vehemently disagree.
Not the ones I know….
I guess you know a lot of retired US generals.
But fine, continue to believe garbage you believe. It actually works for me better.
I know quite a few. They agree. You suck.
They are idiots and you suck.
You started open war with Russia 3 years ago expecting easy win, instead you are losing.
You started war with Ukraine in 2014.

As an aside, this is why it's so important to protect the press in our country. Barbos and probably a great deal of Russians really believe that Nato invaded Russia in 2014; and that we are all Nazis. This whole war, and a potential WW3 could be based on one person, Putin, making his people believe in a lunatic conspiracy.

Professors Gibbs and Sachs agree with me and the rest of the sane people.
And you don't really have real press. Your press is controlled by the neocons.

Not sure which Gibbs you are talking about but yes, I know that Sachs believes NATO plans to eventually grant membership to Ukraine and Georgia without getting the ok from Putin first is a provocation, along with some other things. I fall on the side of Ukraine and Georgia having the right to self determination.

Personally, I do not believe that refusing to do what you think is right for fear of provoking a tantrum from an egomaniacal and corrupt toddler is the right way to go. Putin would similarly decide that not backing him in claiming Ukraine or Georgia or any of the other former Soviet states is an act of aggression. The works dues not agree.

Fixed for you.
And that was not the only provocation.

I understand that for demented toddlers, not paving the way for their own political and financial ‘needs’ is considered a ‘provocation.’

Putin would have a point if anyone was forcing any country to join NATO. The fact is that it is Russia’s ambitions that motivate other countries to desire NATO membership.

Putin should stop provoking its neighbors into wanting to join NATO.
