on the mountainside within the Laurentian highlands - can anyone tell me more about it?

I would imagine so. Mafic dikes are common sights where many deep metamorphic sections are exposed. Where is it?

The statue of Notre Dame du Saguenay gives this away as Cap Trinité in the parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay, Quebec.

Photos of the site from other angles (such as the below, pinched from Google Maps) suggest that it is just a shadow caused by an overhang.

It looks like a gneiss place for a spot of geology.

No, he's right, it's a dike. See all the flooding that happened because Quebec didn't have a little Dutch boy to stick his finger in it?

It is along the Saguenay Fjord in Quebec North of the St Lawrence. I wondered if anyone knew the name of the formations off-hand. There is also a huge white statue of good ole JC in the background. Not JC, but his Mom, as Bomb noted.

There's a joke here...but I refrained from typing it. 😇

I was confused by this thread at first. I was more interested in the giant white penis in the background. Turns out it is JC’s mom? Or maybe a biblical pillar of salt?

Wisdom is beyond price, my son. Be grateful that you have it.
