Van of peace in Berlin, Germany

 
 
 
I have seen reports that the muslim perpetrator was killed when police went to capture him.

Europe truly is fucked. Particularly now that so many native Europeans strive to import large numbers of muslims into their countries.

I doubt this incident will have the “queers for Palestine” idiots rethinking their position.
 
No. Seeing atrocities committed does not make me sympathetic to the commitment of further atrocities. These dead and injured are martyrs, and I weep for them, but I doubt any of them would want to be memorialized by the murder of more innocents. They died believing in the promise of a better and kinder society, and we should honor them by trying to build one.

Europe is only fucked if it all turns into Hungary, not by immigrants. Unless these bad ones have numbers beyond what is apparent. There’s no indication the a large fraction of migrant are Islamists.

My BIL is Pakistani. I took his sister to a F&TM concert with my wife and SIL and she spent the whole weekend with us in a little rental. Interesting conversations. He’s an industrial engineer, she just finished medical residency at the top of her class in an elite school. I’ve gotten to know the whole family pretty well, but especially BIL, and I’ll take one of them over 1,000 right wing moron cunts of any color.

Or should I just believe that they’re sleepers setting up for something terrible?

Ineffective terrorists who get caught or killed after their first effort are hardly a big deal. The IRA were much more of a threat (and they weren't exactly causing England to cower in fear, even at their height).

Those who wish to inspire fear and outrage like to pretend that they dislike these attacks, but it seems to me that they revel in them, as this thread's existence demonstrates.

Approximately 2,700 Germans die each year in motor vehicle crashes. One more doesn't seem worth the effort to get excited about, even if it is deliberate.

And of course, even the deliberate ones don't have racial or religious motivation, as often as not.

Leipzig Mayor Burkhard Jung said the suspected perpetrator - who authorities have confirmed is a 33-year-old German citizen - was arrested. Jung added that authorities were not yet clear about a motive.
Police confirmed a car had struck several people in the central Grimmaische Straße area before driving off. Authorities said 22 people were injured, including three seriously.
Michael Kretschmer, the head of the state of Saxony, of which Leipzig is a part, said the suspect previously suffered from mental illness.

I wonder why that wasn't worth a thread? The death toll was twice as high as the incident in the OP.

Nobody is advocating for murdering innocents. But neither should western societies import large quantities of migrants from incompatible cultures under the guise of "asylum".

Even when politicians wake up and want to change these policies, courts often make any real reforms of the no longer workable asylum system impossible.

And yet since the vast majority of 2 billion Muslims are in fact peaceful, how is that an idiotic classification?

Are all Germans still Nazis? Were all Germans even Nazis during the 30s and 40s?

There is a difference between home-grown criminals and foreign terrorists imported by misguided politicians and judges.
You can't do much about the former, but there is no reason to make western societies less safe by doing the latter. Unfortunately, left wing ideology has become so suicidal they think Islam is a benign force and want to have even more of it in the West.

But a real question to you, bilby and all other Islam apologists: why should western countries continue to import millions of people who reject western culture? That does not mean every single Muslim should be rejected from immigration, of course, but it means that would be migrants should be vetted and rejected if they are Islamist. And so-called "right to asylum" should not trump the interests of western countries not to import their sworn enemies by the million.

The perpetrator in this case, Abdul Balout, travelled back to Lebanon to join ISIS. And yet he was allowed not just to travel back to Germany but his jail sentence was suspended.

*sigh*. Europe is indeed heading for disaster. The numbers and the math of birth rates of muslims will see Europe a de facto islamic state. muslims, most of them anyway, are not in Europe to assimilate. They are in Europe to destroy western society from within. For 1,400 years Europe has been able to keep the muslim hoards at bay but now they are going to commit suicide by inviting them in.

Sure, not every one of them is going to commit an atrocity but you can guarantee the motive is to make teh islam the dominant religion.

Yet even then, no individual U.S. citizen should be confused with these atrocities. I have opposed all of them.
