Covid-19 miscellany

Trump both got the system moving to get a preventative treatment against Covid-19 and ...
NO. He only took credit for what the CDC was already doing.
What would go wrong would be the compromises the people MAGA forced the Government to make because "Damn it! We need to go out and drink at the bar!"
FIFY
The planet got smacked by nature and people MAGA went bonkers on political nonsense. Nothing changes. Instead of killing cats to stop the spread of the plague, people were taking anti-parasitic medicine for barnyard animals!

The fact that Fauci (whom I liked during the pandemic) created that virus could mean that this virus could die out more less completely, cause it does not have natural reservoir other than in humans where it appears not doing well, because it's not "natural"

1,477 million Indian people (approx.) will answer details of "Covid-19 vaccination", if any, in the 2027 Indian Census which is currently going on.

Trump races to prepare for new strains of deadly viruses after cutting biosecurity experts. The administration’s biodefense team has dwindled, and its new safeguards have been delayed — all amid growing concern over AI-enabled pathogens.

By the end of President Joe Biden’s term, the White House had built a team of as many as 30 people focused on biological security, according to three former government officials who worked on the issue — two for Biden and Trump, and one just for Biden — and spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid professional retaliation.

This specialized staff was charged with coordinating the web of federal agencies that deal with biohazards and provided scientific guidance to top officials.

That team rapidly dwindled after Trump returned to office amid cuts and reorganizations, said the three former officials, as well as a fourth former official, who also worked for both administrations. At times, nobody at the White House was dedicated solely to biosecurity, according to three of the former officials.

The losses have come as the administration has delayed replacing key Biden-era directives. It revoked a 2023 executive order on AI calling for stronger biological safeguards and cast doubt on a policy issued the following year designed to require companies to screen buyers seeking genetic components that could be used to create biological agents — widely seen by experts as a basic pillar of the nation’s defenses.

Sorry but I can’t take seriously an article with a title starting with “Trump races to prepare…”

No that's typical Rump.
Tear down what somebody else did, and half-ass rebuild so he can take the credit.
. “Prepare” implies quality foresight, which is the opposite of what you just described.

Trump races to create new strains of deadly viruses*

Six feet of separation in public and a tad bit of supplies hoarding has become ingrained in my behavior.

Your point?
Vaccination is not without its dangers, though such occurances are very rare, 1 in a million.
Way, way below that.

And death in minutes means anaphylaxis. That can be treated if recognized in time and appropriate action taken.

I haven't looked into deaths from the Tdap shot, when I tried to dig up numbers for measles every single case was in children known to be at risk.

Didn’t Brandon give Fauci a preemptive pardon?

Fauci was a deceitful little toad.
We haven't seen any deceit from him.

What we have seen is that he understood the nuances but also understood that trying to present nuances to reporters doesn't work.

We have seen that the changes appear to have little effect--because those who would listen had already reached the same conclusions. Too late, not wrong. Politicians are always too late to act against epidemics.

And of course he took the 5th--the Republicans had made it clear that if he didn't say what they wanted to hear that they would prosecute for perjury.

It's a human medicine, also. It's just this is one of many cases where you can get the animal version without a prescription but the human version needs a prescription. People are prone to harming themselves this way because they don't do careful dose calculations. Fish antibiotics are particularly problematic in this regard because they're expected to be added to the tank, not given directly to the fish. It's easy to get way too much.

Yabut can you prove he’s not a toad?
I wonder about Swiz’s sources … someone is shining so much light up his butt that his ears light up.

Did Brandon give Fauci a preemptive pardon? Not possible. It could only be for crimes already committed. Not for for future crimes such as giving any kind of answer to political frauds trying to please the fascist turd they’re scared of.

Six feet is bad data.

The problem is in reality there is either airborne or not airborne, there is no intermediate state. The problem comes from tuberculosis, which is a very large bacterium. Transmission is pretty much limited to a few feet because of this.

Covid/Wuhan mimicked this behavior when in reality it came down to having a minimum effective dose for transmission. Outside six feet you were unlikely to be exposed to enough to get past the defenses and actually contract the disease.

I can't remember if it was Delta or Omicron, but we now see a typical airborne transmission pattern. Risk is based on the number of infected individuals vs the volume of the airspace, distance is much less of a factor.

That wasn't the point. The point was people were taking barnyard medicine because of partisan insanity. The point was it was the 21st Century and many human beings reacted to the pandemic like irrational psychotic apes.
