Well he only needs the effect in the US to last a couple of weeks, if he times the ban for mid-October.

You don't seriously think that fucking up the entire world, including (or even particularly) the USA, would in any way give him pause in implementing a change that might slightly improve his party's performance in the mid-terms, do you?

I suspect that his base would be ecstatic at a sharp drop in diesel prices, and would utterly fail to heed any warnings about future prices, or about devastating effects on the US economy in the not-quite-as-short term.

The problem is diesel drops don't impact prices overall until later. They'd see diesel go down, maybe gasoline a little, unless nation's stop exporting crude to the US, but it wouldn't impact the wallets much. Heck, gasoline might even go up a little due to the refineries making less money diesel.

But they would see MAGA hats in their eyes, and they'd swoon!

It doesn't need to be much, as long as they can fuel their outsized trucks and start rolling coal without going broke at the gas station, they won't even notice the price of eggs.

Maybe the only thing that's been renewed is the gaslighting, which was a feature of his first administration. His second has consisted much more of not bothering to address any questions with more than, "Fuck off."

While the photo below can be photoshopped, the photo above isn't the same camera shot. Doubtful the same camera. Vertical angle is different, which I doubt can be mocked up in photoshop as such.

Looks like they gray'd the shot in order to make his face not look as orange. removed his grimace, removed the gap between Trump's legs, helped Xi a tad with his hair, removed the hair in the face of the woman in the back to the right (also changed her shoes?!).
 
It's obvious AI not Photoshop. Look at the military lineup in the back, and at the woman on the side who was Monica Crowley.

The interesting thing is that the Piece Of Shit is so full of himself that he doesn't realize that he's toxic. Or he doesn't want to admit that he's toxic. These ads that are illegally paid for by the US Government may be harming Republican candidates.

He doesn't know he's poison in human form, and if he did, he wouldn't care anyway. That's his superpower.

He said he wouldn't start any new wars and that was an important reason to those who voted for him. His approval ratings on that are low, but if he runs for a third term, the same conservatives who voted for him in 2024 will vote for him again. His base is rock solid no matter what he says or does.
