2020 Election Results

The president is appointed by the Electoral College. The Electoral College delegates are appointed by state legislatures.
Nothing like a free and fair election. People only seem to notice that when the EC doesn't produce the results they want.
In theory, yes, but in practice, it is an aggregated and weighted popular vote, the aggregation being by state and by some states' Congressional districts. In fact, It's been that way for most of the history of this nation.

The first one was 1788–89 United States presidential election - Wikipedia

If it's been nearly 200 years since it happened - it's not a valid argument. Why the fuck is that such a controversial statement? And on a related topic, fuck the constitution. Seriously, fuck it in all its holes. If your only argument against something is that it's against the constitution, it's a shitty fucking argument. And to clarify for all the Tucker Hannity dumb cunts out there; yes there is a difference between:

1) I am against (subject) because of (reason A), (reason B) and (reason C) and that's why this is mentioned in the constitution
and
2) I am against (subject) because fuck you it's against the constitution.

Pence finally said out loud that he couldn't single-handedly overturn the election and went so far as to say "And frankly there is almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American President." and "We'll lose our country." More than a year late but I guess it's something.

Pence needs to accept that he ended his career by signing up with a piece of human filth do what he can to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Shortly afterwards the GOP cnesured Kinziger and Cheney. Kinziger replied:

The Republican National Committee (RNC) took a rare step on Friday to censure two GOP lawmakers in the House of Representatives for their participation in a Democratic dominated House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

In an overwhelming voice vote by committee members gathered for the general session of their winter meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, the RNC rebuked Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois. The resolution also states the RNC will "no longer support them as members of the Republican Party.

The two vocal GOP critics of former President Donald Trump were the highest profile of the 10 House Republicans to vote last year to impeach the then-President for inciting the deadly storming of the Capitol by right wing extremists in an attempt to disrupt Congressional certification of now President Biden’s 2020 election victory. Cheney and Kinzinger are the only two Republican members on the panel investigating the attack on the Capitol.

The RNC, in its resolution, argued that Cheney and Kinzinger are "participating in a Democratic led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse."
Delusional.

RNC votes to condemn Cheney, Kinzinger for serving on House committee investigating Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by pro-Trump mob - The Washington Post - "Party leaders meeting in Salt Lake City move a censure resolution against the congresswoman from Wyoming and prepare to fund her primary opponent"
The censure resolution passed overwhelmingly on a voice vote without debate or discussion, with the whole process taking about one minute. The party said the behavior of Cheney and Kinzinger “has been destructive to the institution of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Republican Party and our republic.”

The resolution accused the two of participating in a “Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse” as the committee investigates the insurrection in which a mob of Trump supporters stormed the building, injured 140 members of law enforcement and vandalized the Capitol to stop the affirmation of Joe Biden’s electoral college win. The attack led to the deaths of five people.

In a statement Friday afternoon, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel sought to clarify the resolution’s language, saying it was meant to refer to “ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse that had nothing to do with violence at the Capitol.”
Adam Kinzinger won't run again, but Liz Cheney likely will. Kinzinger retiring from Congress, vows 'broader fight nationwide' against Trumpism- POLITICO

It's the followers who are delusional. These scumbags know exactly what they are doing. They are destroying this democratic experiment for power and hate.

Rubio also said that Pence couldn't overturn the election. Is the crack in the dam growing?

ETA: As did Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming. The rest they listed don't matter since they won't ever be up for reelection.
I'm tiring of this BS. "Pence couldn't overturn the election." It is effectively stating "My hands were tied."

What they should be saying is that "there was nothing wrong with the election" and "There was no evidence that suggested there was anything wrong with the election" and "Donald Trump is lying about the election". Pence's pussyfooting is a disgrace, especially in light of the fact people were chanting for his death while crashing into the Capitol Bldg.

Pence has done, to our knowledge, nothing to support the 1/6 Commission. Providing the documents needed in order to show Trump's plot. Pence is a lightweight and a coward.

Legitimate political discourse.

Hmm... so... does he want to drag people's asses onto the street? I feel like he left that to the viewer's interpretation. ;)

Meanwhile "the courts won't hear us", yeah, you need to take that up with the guy you voted for. He didn't take any of those crap claims to court... and for good reason. And you were too ignorant to notice this minor issue. Gore took things to court. George W. Bush took things to court. You didn't hear them whining about unfair things and NOT TAKING IT TO COURT LIKE TRUMP MANAGED TO NOT DO.

Objection: They took their crap to court--and kept getting their cases promptly thrown out because boldfaced lies in court have consequences, unlike when they tell them to the trumpets.

No, the Trump Campaign did NOT take cases to court that involved any hint of fraud. The Trump Campaign went to court in Arizona to contest dozens of ballots, not tens of thousands, and that was about it. My bad, he did lose some cases in court, but those involved trying to stop counting votes.

The cases tossed out were tossed out because the people suing had no standing, Trump would have had standing.

Mitch's more recent response was more along those lines.

Some at IIDB complain about Trump renting out time in people's heads here. And then I see stuff like this (NY Times gifted link).

Mr. Ramthun, a 64-year-old lawmaker who lives in a village of 2,000 people an hour northwest of Milwaukee, has ridden his decertification push to become a sudden folk hero to the party’s Trump wing. Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s former adviser, has hosted Mr. Ramthun on his podcast. At party events, he shows off a 72-page presentation in which he claims, falsely, that legislators have the power to declare Wisconsin’s election results invalid and recall the state’s electoral votes.

Mr. Ramthun has received bigger applause at local Republican gatherings than the leading candidates for governor, and last weekend he joined the race himself, announcing his candidacy at a campaign kickoff where he was introduced by Mike Lindell, the MyPillow chief executive who has financed numerous efforts to undermine and overturn the 2020 election.

Mr. Trump offered public words of encouragement.
Possibly a fringe candidate, but has the backing from the alt-right. Which is pressuring the main GOP Governor candidates to hold back on acknowledging Trump lost Wisconsin in a fair election.

Keep on whining, EX-president Bonespurs.
So, Crooked Hillary Clinton, one of the most corrupt politicians ever to run for President, can break into the White House, my apartment, buildings I own, and my campaign—in other words, she can spy on a Presidential candidate and ultimately, the President of the United States—and the now totally discredited Fake News Media does everything they can not to talk about it. On the other hand, failed Gubernatorial candidate, Letitia James, can run for the office of AG on saying absolutely horrendous and false things about Donald Trump, a man she doesn’t know and has never met, go on to get elected, and then selectively prosecute him and his family. After viewing millions of pages of documents over many years, they come up with a “Fringe Benefits” case on a car, an apartment, and on grandchildren’s education. She is doing everything within their corrupt discretion to interfere with my business relationships, and with the political process. With the rest of the case, even Cy Vance, who just left the DA’s office without prosecuting anything additional, because there isn’t anything additional to prosecute—THERE IS NO CASE! The targeting of a President of the United States, who got more votes while in office than any President in History, by far, and is a person that the Radical Left Democrats don’t want to run again, represents an unconstitutional attack on our Country—and the people will not allow this travesty of justice to happen. It is a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in history—and remember, I can’t get a fair hearing in New York because of the hatred of me by Judges and the judiciary. It is not possible!

Statement from Trump said:
My long-term accounting firm didn’t leave me for any other reason than they were harassed, abused, and frightened by DA’s and AG’s that for years have been threatening them with indictment and ruination. They were “broken” by these Radical Left racist prosecutors, and couldn’t take it anymore. Even the letter they sent stated, “Mazars performed its work in accordance with professional standards. A subsequent review of those work papers confirms this.” Further, their disclaimer clause in the financial statements has for years stated much the same.

My company is incredible with some of the greatest assets in the world and very low debt. Also, we’re loaded with cash. The Fake News Media hates talking about it!

We have a brilliant Sec of State in Jena Griswold. In another State, this kind of crap would be - and probably is, going on un-noticed.
Of course bobblehead Boebert is screaming bloody murder about the fact that her ilk got caught in the act of electoral fraud.
What an embarrassment that brainless little twerp is.
