This newfound McVeigh attention took an especially serious turn Monday. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Oklahoma City announced charges against an alleged copycat named Jerry Drake Varnell — who, the FBI said, had planned to blow up a bank using a vehicle bomb similar to the one McVeigh used.

Based on past conservative and libertarian (which is completely different, honest!) arguments, it is reasonable to judge all rightists by what some alt-right extremists do and believe. In the past, I've tried explaining to rightists why hasty generalization fallacies are bad, and was told in no uncertain terms that by pointing out the logical fallacy, I was attacking their free speech rights.

So, having established that this kind of logic is completely valid and that any attempt to disagree with this logic makes one a fascist who hates freedom of speech, we can therefore conclude that all rightists (conservatives and libertarians both) promote terrorism and consider a terrorist to be a hero.

Now that we have proved (using rightist "logic") that all rightists are terrorists or terrorist supporters, would we be justified in deporting all of them? McVeigh was a terrorist who murdered 168 innocent people, including children. For normal, non-terrorist people, doing that would be a bad thing.

PS[ent]mdash[/ent]It sounds like Jerry Drake Varnell was caught because he tried to build a McVeigh-style bomb. Fertilizer truck bombs don't kill people, people with fertilizer truck bombs kill people. If you make fertilizer truck bombs illegal, then only criminals will have fertilizer truck bombs. This is clearly an attack on our second amendment rights by the bomb-grabbers in the Trump administration! The jack-booted thugs are coming to your house to confiscate your fertilizer truck bombs any minute now! Fertilizer truck bombs are not sentient, therefore it would be wrong to arrest people for possessing them! This is proof that we are living in a fascist nightmare! Wake up, sheeple!!!!!!!!!!@!!!@@@!!!!

It is true that bombs don't kill people - people with bombs kill people. To quote Archie Bunker "Would you prefer they use knives?"

Knives are exactly as deadly as fertilizer truck bombs, therefore it is wrong to regulate fertilizer truck bombs.

I thought it was "Would you rather they be pushed out of windows?"

It is possible to kill people by pushing them out of windows, therefore defenestration is exactly as deadly as fertilizer truck bombs. Should we amputate and confiscate everyone's arms and legs to prevent defenestration?

When should the deportations start?

When should the deportations start?

How are you planning to deport them? Planes, trucks and boats all have windows, so you'd basically just be handing weapons to terrorists if you try.

Why do you hate America so much that you want to hand weapons to terrorists?

Personally, I enjoy this kind of thing - it makes me feel less alone in thinking the way I do. And this forum is a relatively appropriate venue for such expression. It worries me though, when moderates/liberals go the next step and start emulating not only right-wingnut "logic" in parody, but following said wingnuts down their (formerly exclusive) rabbit hole of extreme hyperbole and invented "facts".
It's a difficult urge to resist, given that we have a so-called president whose very being is founded on personal attacks based on outright lies, policies based on outright lies etc. But I don't think emulating cheato will serve well to get these assholes out of office, tempting though it may be. Rather, it serves to blur the lines between right wingnut propaganda and whatever actual truth remains out there. And nothing could better serve the cause of our aspiring authoritarian leaders.

But they are right and I am wrong, therefore it is reasonable to judge all rightists by their worst.

I have had this same conversation with rightists many, many times. it is completely unreasonable that I have a problem with hasty generalization fallacies, and any time I complain about hasty generalization fallacies, I am in effect attacking people's free speech rights.

Since I value free speech, I therefore conclude that it is reasonable to conclude that all rightists are terrorists or terrorist supporters, and that we should now seriously discuss deporting all of them. To say otherwise would be to criticize the logic of rightist arguments, which is the same thing as taking away their free speech rights.

Therefore, if you disagree with me about deporting all rightists, you are attacking my free speech rights, probably because you are a communo-fascist (same thing, really).

;)

Whatthehell's the matter wid you?
DEPORT them??? NOW? Now? When we need lettuce pickers more than ever? Now, when we need manual laborers to Build The Wall? Now, when our infrastucture is crumbling?
That's insane. We have to do the only sensible thing:
LOCK 'EM UP! (in labor camps)
