A day without stupid?

Notre Dame Cathedral is on fire and Trump has a solution... that doesn't involve Jared Kuschner.
President Ellipsis said:
So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!
Knowing the President, I would have thought he'd recommend ignoring the fire was even there. Just lie about it. Only if he was around on 9/11 to suggest such a thing to save the Trade Towers!

Trump said that Paris needs flying water tankers and that they "must act quickly" to put out the Notre Dame fire. Truly brilliant...drop tons of water at once on the center of a densely populated city. And I'm sure that no one else thought to act quicly.

He is literally too stupid to understand that the reason you use tanker aircraft to fight forest fires is because there is no water infrastructure in the forest that allows you to pump water to the location of the fire. This time the stoopid really does burn.

Meanwhile...
President Trump said:
What do I know about branding, maybe nothing (but I did become President!), but if I were Boeing, I would FIX the Boeing 737 MAX, add some additional great features, & REBRAND the plane with a new name.No product has suffered like this one. But again, what the hell do I know?
"Additional great features", like the 'our sensors won't crash the plane' feature... or blue LED lights in the seat?

What does Trump know about branding? Maybe the better question is, what does Trump know about running a profitable airline?

Given the number of bankrupt businesses with his name, a better question is what does Trump know about running a profitable business?
It was more a knock regarding Trump Air, when Trump decided buying airplanes that he wasn't going to fly was a profitable idea.

He's a moron, yes, but helicopter tankers (not airplanes) can get a surprisingly accurate drop, even flinging the water from a distance.

I used to work and fly with these guys, some of the best in the business:

When I see video of them dropping it in the heart of a city with insignificant collateral damage I will reconsider.

I'm surprised that he hasn't blamed it on muslims or illegal immigrants yet.

If you look at videos from them fighting the fire, there was a constant spray of water from all sides, at all times, the full height of the church. They have water cannons! There's just no need (or point) to bring in anything that hasn't got a fat hose plugged in to the water grid. Getting anything to lift up water to drop it is just a waste of time and effort. Not to mention, more moving parts, so more that can go wrong.

There's no shortage of people having done exactly that. So I think its redundant for him.

I believe I read a comment from the brigade indicating it'd risk the structural integrity of the structure, to do a water drop.

Oh, it definitely would be. In order to make it not likely to risk damaging the structure, they'd have to hover much higher and let the water disperse, which would mitigate most of the help, and it would not be able to deliver water on target in nearly the same volume as, you know, hoses on the scene. ;)

I was mostly being snarky, and wanted to show off the video because it's cool (and like I said, I used to work for that company, and those pilots rock!). :D

No no no, FFvC will turn this on California, and tell them they should install fire hydrants all across their forests...dumb librals :D

They can't do that because it would risk shorting out all the Roombas they've dispatched to clean the forest floors.

A helicopter isn't dependent on local water pipes (firefighters can max out the available local water) and can drop on the top of the structure. Whether it would be a good idea to do such a drop is another matter, though.
