Sorry for the interment posting..I've been on the phone. Anyhow, this is some impressive propaganda, but it's over 10 years ago. Anyone know how things are now? What do I mean by "things", I guess his popularity with the target demographic of that video.
I'm getting around to it. NPR has the story behind the song. It wasn't Putin's idea, but he gave his blessing. It quickly hit #1 on the charts in 2003? I'll dig up the links.
I believe topic of this thread is popular music in Russia. I am not big fan of it, it's pretty horrible. And I blame Putin for that, this particular incident is proof of his guilt. TV is horrible too. It looks like they have given up on anybody below age of 60 except sport fans.
That's not really representative of propaganda in Russia. But it is representative of what kind of shit western propaganda use to represent propaganda in Russia. I mean that's very typical of western media.I believe topic of this thread is popular music in Russia. I am not big fan of it, it's pretty horrible. The topic should have been: Propaganda, Putin Style.
Reminds me of the Obama Girl stuff when Obama was running in 2008.

meh. French and English politicians are generally different to this. I'm not saying they're better, just that people in those countries simply aren't inclined to take this kind of thing seriously.Reminds me of the Obama Girl stuff when Obama was running in 2008.
Putin is just a standard issue Russian politician, really not much different from the standard issue American or English or French politician.
