Alien Megastructure... or just something we haven't thought of yet?

Obviously it's an alien gigastructure--megastructure is too small a term for construction at that scale!

Apparently they have been using the Allen Telescope Array in the Cascade Mountains in an attempt to detect either deliberate signals or leakage from the system, but without luck.

Which doesn't bode well for the alien mega-structure idea.

But I suppose this doesn't rule it out entirely, a super civilization on that scale and order may not transmit radio waves.

Maybe, but just because the "structure" is there doesn't mean the civilization has existed within the last few millions of years.

Possibly, but I read that they have searched images of the region going back a hundred years and found the dimming of the star has been progressive. Like something has been accumulating or building over that period.

Yet whatever it is, rubble or whatever, it isn't showing up in infrared (absorbing starlight). Nor radio waves.
