How exactly does an atheist criticise someone for engaging in consensual sex? You think adultery is a sin???
And if it's the hypocrisy that bothers you, then how about you stop sticking your nose into his life.
Coz that's a double standard.
I heard the Catholic Church had tons of atheists hiding in the clergy masquerading as priests.
It is hypocrisy to represent oneself as something one is not. It's a further hypocrisy to present oneself as something others should try to be, while not actually being that.
That said, I'll also say I can sympathize with some of Josh Duggar's problems. As a skilled and accomplished adulterer emeritus, there's no double standard in critiquing one of my own kind.
It's a good thing for most of us that our adult life is not judged by things we did when we were teenage boys. If it turns out that Josh is still sneaking into young girl's bedrooms, it will be a different matter. If he is, I haven't heard about it.
Duggar's hypocrisy lies not in his sexual adventures, but in lying about them. For an ordinary person, this would be a matter between him and his wife, but the Duggars chose to be public figures, so it's fair when the public responds.
To ask a rhetorical question such as, "How exactly does an atheist criticise someone for engaging in consensual sex? You think adultery is a sin???" is disingenuous. Consensual sex is not the issue here and never has been.
