Are we now in full blown fascist totalitarianism?

Torture Barbie cancels Harvard's ability to accept foreign students and is revoking legal status for existing foreign students enrolled at Harvard unless they transfer.

Harvard University Loses Student and Exchange Visitor Program Certification for Pro-Terrorist Conduct

Harvard is being held accountable for collaboration with the CCP, fostering violence, antisemitism, and pro-terrorist conduct from students on its campus.

WASHINGTON – Today, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem ordered DHS to terminate the Harvard University’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification.

This means Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status.

Why are they all masked and wearing plainclothes? If someone were armed wouldn't it be reasonable to shoot them as it seems quite reasonable to believe these people are kidnappers with no uniform or badge displayed.

Is punching an undercover cop a crime?
If they shoot you while you're doing it, it's not a crime.

Depends on the colour of the puncher. Five years ago that would have been a sarcastic answer and not an accurate one.

... Again, this isn't about Trump, it is about the GOP.
Yep. The entire GOP. Trump does nothing without their full support in congress. They approved all of his cabinet picks. They covered for him in impeachments. And on and on.

Let's give "credit" where "credit" is due. There were a tiny number of Republican Senators who voted Nay on at least one Trump nominee. I'll put the Nays on the record in this post.

Three GOP Senators voted against the grossly incompetent drunkard Pete Hegseth for Secy Defense. The three were Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. JD Vance ascended the dais and cast a tie-breaking vote: By a 51-50 vote this ultra-right-wing drunkard and imbecile was given control of the US military.

I feel comfortable saying that all but the three GOP Senators just named certainly deserve the title "Scumbag." Collins and Murkowski also cast the only two GOP votes against FBI Director Kash Patel, but they voted Yea on EVERY other one of Trump's nominees. I'd call them Scumbags too, but we must hope they come to their senses and, perhaps, vote against the Big Beautiful Bill.

McConnell may be the closest thing to a 100+ IQ human being the GOP Senate Caucus has: In addition to voting Nay against Hegseth, he voted against Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. (Why couldn't Collins and Murkowski also vote against those clowns?)

There were three GOP votes against Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Secy Labor, but so what? IIUC votes against her (by McConnell, Rand Paul and Ted Budd) were because she was too pro-labor!

And there was ONLY one other Nay vote cast by a GOP Senator against a Trump nominee. That was Rand Paul -- always striving to attract attention as zaniest Senator -- who objected to Jamieson Greer, Trade Representative.

Some Democrats didn't shine well themselves:
A handful of Democrats supported nearly half of the nominees. Sens. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, John Hickenlooper of Colorado and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire each voted for 10 of Mr. Trump's nominees.

Don’t worry. Swiz et al assure us that they only get the bad guys. It’s for maximum libertarian liberty.

The situation is only partly analogous, as the whole point with being an undercover cop is that no one knows that you are a cop. This means if a citizen punches that cop, they can't reveal that they are a cop, so as to not break cover. The other big differences are that a single undercover cop is not a gang like the ICE agents nor masked nor engaging in harassment or worse of normal people, nor simply having a gun out and doing an illegal arrest. The other big difference is that that cop can't engage in illegal activity except in extreme circumstances.

Is punching an undercover cop a crime?
Depends. My daughter's one time boyfriend was arrested for punching a cop. He was in a bar in Scottsdale, saw a fight start, and jumped in to try and break it up. Someone came up behind him and tried to put him in a headlock. He elbowed the guy in the face.

The guy was an off duty Scottsdale cop, and the kid was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer. They made the charge stick, and he had to pay fines and was put on probation.

Heavily armed paramilitary forces enforcing immigration law on restaurant workers and using flash granades on crowds:

Immigration officers swarmed a restaurant late Friday afternoon in South Park, escorting two employees out in a raid that left the staff, the manager said, deeply shaken.

ICE officers tossed two flash bangs to back the crowd off. Black remnants of the bangs remained visible on the pavement outside the restaurant.

The restaurant’s manager, Renato Ametrano, described what happened, saying the ICE officers showed “up with no explanation.” He said there were about 20-25 officers who “surrounded the building and then came inside” pushing him against the wall and handcuffing him.

They frightened the workers, many of them students, Ametrano said, describing ICE personnel as “very aggressive” while handcuffing other members of the staff.
He said the officers were looking at a computer and at employees. Apparently they did not see whatever or whomever they were seeking.
Instead, they took two employees, said Ametrano, because “they didn’t have a physical ID.”

The house bill nearly doubles funding for immigration enforcement and detention. Expect to see far more of this type of thing going forward in streets all across America.

Mexican Girl Receiving Lifesaving Care in US Can’t Stay, Trump Administration Says

The Trump administration has revoked permission for a 4-year-old Mexican girl who receives lifesaving medical care from a California hospital to stay in the country, attorneys for the family said on Wednesday.

“Doctors have been clear that she will die within days” without this care, Amato said at a press conference in Los Angeles. “Deporting this family under these conditions is not only unlawful, it constitutes a moral failure that violates the basic tenets of humanity and decency."

And, as a reminder, this is exactly what all those scumbags voted for:

Somewhere this is going to come to a head, like the Fingerman that killed the little girl near the end of V for Vendetta.
