  1. Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power: Including denial of due process, unlawful deportations, defiance of court orders, and misuse of the Department of Justice.
  2. Usurpation of Appropriations Power: For dismantling congressionally established agencies and impounding federal funds.
  3. Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression: Including imposing economically damaging tariffs and threatening military invasion against sovereign nations.
  4. Violation of First Amendment Rights: Through retaliatory actions against critics, media, and attorneys exercising constitutionally protected speech.
  5. Creation of an Unlawful Office: By establishing the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”) and unlawfully empowering Elon Musk to unilaterally violate the Constitution.
  6. Bribery and Corruption: Involving dismissing criminal cases, soliciting foreign emoluments, and extortionate settlements for personal and political gain.
  7. Tyrannical Overreach: Seeking to consolidate unchecked power, erode civil liberties, and defy constitutional limits on presidential authority.

I agree with most or all of this.

Is there a point to doing this, while Trump's party runs the leg. branch? Calling him "thrice-impeached" will no more undo him than calling him "twice impeached". Is it, on the other hand, a necessary function of underlining his abuse of power and assaulting Constitutional law? I just don't know. He seems to gain a stronger hold on his supporters when he's the focus of investigation, prosecution, or impeachment.

I think that it is vital that criminality and dereliction of duty and violating the oath of office are officially called out, even if cowards refuse to address the grave wrongs.

The House has 220 Republicans and 213 Democrats (it was 215, but to of them recently died). Impeachment only requires a simple majority vote, so only need four or five Republicans to switch to get an impeachment started. Of course the full impeachment will fail in the Senate as that requires a 2/3 majority and there are no enough Republican senators with integrity and guts to get the votes there, but it is worth a try, and will put on the historical record who the traitors are.

Is there some prize for having the most impeachment articles served upon oneself?

The tertiary benefit of impeachment would be Trump being too distracted to carry out his nazi adjacent plans.

If the Repubs run true to form, they'd vote to have no witnesses, simply have the charges read and then acquit. Trump would come out to the mic snarling and claiming once again that he was victimized -- and he would be even more adamant about penalizing his foes. Net gain?

The gains would be after Trump is no longer in power. It would give clear indication of who in congress gave him cover, and could be used against them in elections, and possibly criminal investigations if we are lucky enough for that to happen. Also make it harder for people in the future to whitewash his presidency, like they did with Reagan.

In the short-term, this won't go anywhere, but to a committee to die. So, it will be a record of his abuses and those congress critters who swept them under the rug.

In the longer term, the same issues will come up again. What will Democrats do with the full list once they take the majority which will be next congressional election cycle? And what extra bullshit will Trump have done by then? Will all GOP congress critters still want to be on the record as shitting on the Constitution? Will the conservative empire in media, propaganda, and new institutional changes Trump is starting to implement begin to crumble or hold strong?

I agree, but it is too early. He needs to defy SCOTUS, and then the arguments become less political and more Constitutional.

I don't think it goes anywhere for now, but at least someone is doing something to address it.
