Now Bieber has copped some flak for his new dreadlocks, with fans yet again taking to Instagram to lash out at the singer.

"If you knew about dreadlocks and the HISTORY behind them like I previously mentioned you would understand it's not exactly ok for him to just decide to style his hair in that manner," one said.

Is it sort ofokay, like you policing other people's bodies is sort of okay?

"White people can't wear dreads because it's culture appropriation. dreads are a part of the Rastafarian culture that comes from Jamaica, and it's wrong if people other than Rastafarians wear it," another said.

Oh dear. This man does not understand cultural appropriation -- according to him, non-Jamaican blacks who wore dreadlocks would be appropriating Rastafarian culture. Minorities can't ever appropriate from other minorities, it's always about a dominant culture and a minority culture. Unless you're Beyoncé, of course. She culturally appropriated, but only because she's a woman who doesn't have agency or power and was manipulated by some white devils into it.

As we established in the other thread, Rastafarians appropriated the dreadlocks from other cultures that used them thousands of years before. Why do Jamaicans get to appropriate somebody else's culture and then foreclose on anybody else adopting the hair style?

Btw, wouldn't the shape of dreadlocked hair fit Pastafarian theology much better anyway?

Is that also Lil' Wayne's reason for dreadlocks? Odds are that he (like most African-Americans with dreadlocks) has no more personal connection to the cultures in which dreadlocks originated that Bieber. But perhaps Wayne knew that "Cultural Appropriation" controversies have nothing to do with actual cultural appropriation and 100% to do with skin color and race, namely, it is your skin color that completely determines whether an action is a wrongful appropriation.

Or perhaps both Wayne and Bieber just did what they wanted without thinking about a "controversy", because they failed to imagine just how pathetically stupid some people are that would make it a controversy. Their music certainly suggests a lack of imagination, so that is a good bet.
