Somehow I think we aren't getting the whole story but it certainly sounds wrong.

See? just 2 hours and 12 minutes later. That's not too long.

Loren is correct: there is more to the story. The off duty officer is black and was not in uniform when he rushed to aid his fellow officers.

Honestly, I'm kind of surprised at the lack of attempted character assassination here.
Maybe he smelled a bit like weed? Or was a larger gentleman? Maybe he looked like a guy who stole some cigarettes? Was he wearing a hoodie?

Seriously though, all the more reason why most officers should be armed with wirelessly backed-up body cameras instead of guns.

I'm glad someone started a thread on this important political issue.

I can't wait until the people who support skittish police officers shooting each other show up so I can school them in the errors of that position.

The usual suspects are frozen into silence because the shooting victim was himself a cop. They can't start with their usual character assassinations in this case.

That off duty officer is really lucky that the shooting police officer was so incompetent. Not only did he fail to ascertain whether there was an actual threat but he failed to shoot to kill.
