But proper rules of etiquette require that one not use the term "all y'all" unless one is sitting on their porch with a shotgun while drinking moonshine and spitting chewing tobacco.

That's a negative.
You is singular, you-all (y'all) is the plural, all y'all is emphasis.

If you invite Harry over, you ask 'You comin?'
If you invite Harry and his family over, then it's 'Y'all comin?'
If you invite Harry and his extended family over (everyone that lives in his house AND members of his family that live in another house), it might be 'All y'all comin?'

It may be very location dependent where some Souths use it and some Souths save it for emphasis. The shotgun probably helps. Some of the places I've lived have used it, some apparently do not. However, if you say it with a west coast drawl, especially if you add, "dudes," it will always be dangerous.
