California Doing California Things

Another day, another $590m handout

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a $590 million state loan to help stabilize BART, Muni, Caltrain and AC Transit as they face major budget deficits tied to post-pandemic ridership declines. Facing a massive budget deficit, BART previously warned it could close up to 15 stations, end service at 9 p.m., reduce train frequency to every 30 minutes and lay off 1,200 workers.

News

Newsom should definitely run for president.

Hey, you have like 40 million people, half of them are millionaires and half the rest are billionaires. If y’all can’t come up with another fifteen bucks each to support travel for.those without limos and planes, you shoulda taxed the rich more.

You do realize that the people who are using public transportation at those 15 stations will still have to get to work, right? And that the additional cars required to transport them will make the traffic congestion on the freeways worse, not to mention intensifying California's pollution problems.

A State's Governor is supposed to see the big picture. Newsom is supposed to weigh the costs and the benefits of policies and make the decision that benefits his state the most.

What's so terrible about the State loaning money to the agencies that run the public transit system so they can continue to provide their services to the people who rely on them?

Hey, it could cost Swiz $15 !
You think money like that grows on trees?

Newsome is focusing on the future which is tech and electricity.

Newsom (there is no "e" in Nwsom) is currently focused on himself. He checked out of governing California in 2024 to concentrate on his risible presidential aspirations and put out silly postings and memes on X. Newsom is low IQ, bordering on retarded. Newsom is the "brains" behind the California High Speed Rail debacle that will cost billions of dollars and will serve nobody. He is also the "brains" behind the failed California emergency services phone system, a $900m failure.

I don't know enough about those projects to assign blame. But it's funny how you count all the misses when evaluating a democratic person. Did you raise the same objection when Trump failed at running a casino? I don't know much about the California emergency services phone system, but I'll be that it's more complicated than running a casino!

Did Trump have casinos in California?
Of course not! He has to operate in mob-run Ststes like New Jersey where his mob bros can rig everything for him. AND HE STILL FAILS !!
Fucking CASINO in New fucking Jersey!
Such an incompetent moron. Hard to believe he gets ANY votes.

Remarkable! He planned the whole CHSR project at the age of 11? I mean, wow!
Yeah. At age eleven his vocabulary was three times that of 31 year old idiot Trump. But he didn’t inherit and lose a few hundred million dollars like Dumb Donald did, so you didn’t hear about the 11 year old prodigy.

Well, I certainly wouldn't let you plan anything! Apparently you don't understand the difference between a grant and a loan.

You boy Newsom is taking he credit for it! He has been in charge since he was elected.

It's only a loan if they actually pay it back.

It's only a loan if they actually pay it back.
Which you are certain they won’t.
I guess you’re used to Trump’s way of dealing with debts.
He announced his plans to steal 10 billion dollars from American taxpayers yesterday. We're not getting that back, if he succeeds.

Geez, if Trump wasn't currently occupying the bottom rung...
Right? 😆
I get the impression that whoever put that together really missed the boat though. Not one mention of trolling talent, nor any explication of the power of the Insufferable Prick, his two greatest assets in the quest for the throne.

You start making videos that can't come in under three hours and people won't watch them. ;)

His staff with the help of AI are the ones doing the trolling work. Gavin himself can barely read or write (dyslexia).

I want to know who the "idea man" in his staff is. Newsom delivers the message pretty well considering if it's not really his ...
Insufferable prickery would be hard to fake so consistently!
