Can You Render an Apple

Just a silly thread on the ability to generate a "sensory phantom". The exercise is this: imagine an apple. Can you see an apple? How clear can you get the apple to become? Can you taste the apple? Can you feel the weight of an apple? Can you feel yourself take a bite out of an apple? And so on.

It doesn't mean much whether you can or can't, but let us know on the poll what's what!

To be fair, drawing an apple is a perfectly acceptable way to "render" one.

Hmm, yes and no. I can certainly render an idealized apple, and add plenty of detail to that idealized apple, but the experience is not truly equivalent to interacting with a real apple in all of its instantiated variation. Even a computer would not be able to, for instance, observe the exterior of an apple and correctly visualize in advance the interior arrangement of its seeds in cross section or trace the exact shape and width of its vascular bundle. Phantasm and reality never meet without making many inherent contradictions apparent.

Ugh, now I'm feeling the awkward star-shaped vascular structure in an apple core in my "mouth". And the taste and texture of bitten-through appleseed mixed with the texture of shattered appleseed hull.
