Carville’s take

This morning Joe Scarborough related James Carville’s “radical new tactic for Democrats”; roll over and play dead.
Of all the ideas I’ve heard, that one might be the most effective.
Basically, stop opposing all this bullshit, take themselves off the field. Let the fascists fuck the electorate in the ass until they can’t sit down.
He thinks that will allow Dems to make sure the blame falls where it belongs. And that’s the part that gives me pause. I don’t know if further ceding the narrative will get Democrats off the hook; if there’s one thing the scumbag party is good at, it’s causing pain and blaming Dems for it.
There is little doubt that giving them enough rope to hang themselves is a viable option. But will they hang themselves, or hang the democrats with all that rope?
Thoughts?
This is a really bad idea. For most all my life they have been claiming it is "secret" action by those in charge rather than their own systematic attempts at obstruction. They will just switch to accusing more "hidden" enemies in the same vein of exactly the thing they did for the last 40 years.

They will simultaneously attempt to force additional births, and attack emergent non-reproductive minorities as the enemy.

Oh, and to criminalize autism because Neuro-atypical people tend to offer substantive rebellion and questioning of existing social order.

Right - it works. What “switch” though? It was and remains their SOP. The question is about the most effective response ATM.

Well ya sure as hell ain’t gonna out-reproduce ‘em!

Waitaminit! Leon is gonna be criminalized? Can we nationalize his assets?
Seriously, my neuro-atypical friend, another attribute of the neuro-atypical is (ime) mental flexibility. Criminalizing autism - a spectrum - would be like trying to rivet jelly in place. Autism would just be another placeholder for “people we don’t understand and for all we know, might be a threat”.

The Dems could filibuster the upcoming spending bills. But that only shuts down the government, which is what's happening anyway.
If anything, a government shutdown would SLOW the destruction the Republicans are currently doing.

I'm not super familiar with Carville, having only seen him on some of the talking head shows a couple of times, but what evidence do we have that he's got any particularly useful insight into the current situation? To me, he seems extremely political and his approach much more about the political fight and much less so about the human impact of politics.

Carville was Clinton's strategist, and has been hanging around ever since trying to be relevant. CNN particularly likes have him on as a talking head.

The dems need to pick the fights that can be won, and not die on every hill.
