Chronicles in socialist success stories: Poll: most voters say they're open to a political revolution to redistribute wealth

Please elaborate.

What is the level that it would be considered stealing?

What is the level that what would be considered stealing?

Sanders would have it so that they pay close to half their income.

You should read up on how marginal tax rates work.

But remember, that 100% paycheck you get is just really the governments and you are just lucky to keep any of it.

Thanks for the clarification Rush!

It's frightening how many people appear to view it that way. We've transitioned from the idea that the government serves the people, to the notion that people are mere slaves to the government.

It'll cost you $25. I accept pay pal.
Okay. I just submitted it.

Looks like I got a bargain!

The term "political revolution" in the poll seems ambiguous. I think most of those who said yes, just interpreted that as just getting someone new like Sanders or Trump in power by means of regular vote.

When does the OWS party get put on the ballot?

Is Bernie's plan popular enough that if he asked everybody to pay $1000 a year per person, they would get government run health care?

The poll didn't ask about Bernie specificly. I'm just saying that adding the word "political" makes people more likely to tick that box because it can be anything from an actual revolution to just regular voting. There doesn't even have to be a fitting candidate on the ballot.

Who's that guy whose got his hand in his vest and that other guy with the small mustache who keeps throwing his right arm out in a salute. They seem to be getting an awful lot of attention. There's also this guy who looks very white very blonde claiming to be a winning savior of some sort who is usually leading in polls? I'm thinking these people are getting noticed for very specific reasons.

"Redistribution" sounds like someone owes you. As if all assets are community assets, and some are hording assets which belong to all. It seems an Orwellian turn of phrase meant to replace what had usually been simply called jealously or envy.
I never realized that fair economic opportunity was synonymous with 'jealousy or envy'.

Jealousy and envy are the driving forces of life among the idle rich. Having the the biggest and the most while beating out your friends at the Club is their favorite pastime.

Redistribution sounds like redistribution. Debt sounds like one owes someone something. This may explain the problem with right wingers, they don't know the proper definition of words.

It doesn't seem Orwellian to me, but then I think redistribution means

noun
1. a distribution performed again or anew.
2. Economics. the theory, policy, or practice of lessening or reducing inequalities in income through such measures as progressive income taxation and antipoverty programs.

there will still be rich people, no yacht will go unsold or unsailed, no country club will be left ungolfed. Just that poor folk will get relief, working people will make their bills without incurring more debt and public services will actual have the resources and staff to serve the public.

It's the good old, "What do we want? Everything" Who should pay for it? Someone else

you mean like corporate tax avoidance, wage theft, and negative externalities.

I hear ya.

And what is wage theft?

I'm also curious. Do you hold contempt for anyone that hides from taxes they should pay? Does Bernie and Hillary run their taxes with and without deductions and then choose the higher one to pay? Does either one give extra to the government on their tax return?

Do you have the real opportunities to legally hide your taxes in they way they can? Do you have a large enough income to have a residence for tax purposes?

Individuals can take loopholes that lower taxable income just as easily as corporations can.

Yeah, you have cash transactions, and no receipt of the income. Is there scorn for those people?

According to the below, more than 1,625,000 Americans cheated on their taxes last year:

http://www.statisticbrain.com/how-many-people-cheat-on-taxes/

My guess is that most didn't declare all their income that they were paid.

It's frightening how many people appear to view taxes as theft.

When your electricity bill arrives, do you rant about how people should "...remember, that 100% paycheck you get is just really the electric company's and you are just lucky to keep any of it"; Do you tell your drinking buddies that your landlord wants half your income, and that they should "...remember, that 100% paycheck you get is just really the landlord's and you are just lucky to keep any of it"; Do you whine that your phone bill is too high, and bitch that people need to "...remember, that 100% paycheck you get is just really the telephone company's and you are just lucky to keep any of it"; Or do you pay your bills, because you used the services?

If you don't think the services of the US Government are worth what they charge you, you have the option to move to somewhere where the US Government doesn't provide any services.

When you get there, you may be charged less, or even nothing, by whatever government is in place in your new home country. You may get less too - or even nothing.

You can keep 100% of your pay-check in any of these countries:

Bahrain
Sark (Channel islands)
Qatar
United Arab Emirates (although a future income tax is proposed here)
Brunei
British Virgin Islands
Oman
Cayman Islands
Kuwait
Saudi Arabia
Maldives
Cape Verde
Monaco

If you are opposed to paying taxes, then move to one of those places; or to a place where government has broken down and taxes are simply not collected - such as Somalia.

If you don't want to pay for electricity, don't use electricity. If you don't want to pay for government services, don't live in a place where the government charges for its services.

Simples.
