Oh I think they care deeply about facts. They just have a different definition of what constitutes a fact.
Take the latest pressing issue facing our nation: The ratings for the season premiere of "The Celebrity Apprentice." Our President-elect referred to himself (in the third person, no less) as a "ratings machine."
Trump supporters would accept this as fact. Truth is, the original "Apprentice" was shelved due to poor ratings and was replaced with the "Celebrity" version. As far as "reality" programming goes, Celebrity Apprentice drew solid if unspectacular numbers for NBC.

Eh, they kinda don't accept facts. I got into a FB 'argument' with a relative (by marriage, and not mine, thank heavens) who does not understand the difference between opinion, wishful thinking, and facts if facts contradict his already determined opinion, fed by wishful thinking. Part of this 'argument' included a several paragraph (or would have been paragraphs if he knew basic grammar) long description of all the ways that he is not racist.
Of course, Russian hackers had nothing to do with the outcome of our election and the same person who worshipped Ronald Reagan only slightly less than Jesus Christ has no problem with any of it. First of all, it didn't happen, and second of all, isn't Putin great?
