Congress defies its own law, fails to install plaque honoring Jan. 6 police officers

Very troubling.
It's a harbinger of their post-election refusal to acknowledge Trump's electoral loss.
They are already organized to stop certification of a second Biden win.
The "civil war" fires and bombings will just be a little distraction from the actual government overthrow they are planning.

Law and order! I mean when those people commit crimes, not when we do it.

The majority of the GOP in the US House were complicit with the attempt to steal the election. Of course they don't want to recognize actions by people to try and quell a riot.

Good to see an effort being made to honor our men in blue who risk life and limb to protect our citizens and property from violent thugs, even if it is just a plaque. Its a refreshing and welcome change from the "Defund the Police", "Police are Pigs" and other disrepect that has been dished out over the last few years towards our police. Let's hope it continues.

ok, but what effort? I mean, look, the legislation was signed 3 years ago to put a plaque up. Imagine you went to a place, bought a plaque, ordered some engraved statement on it, and then asked your building maintenance or other fix-it guy to install the plaque. Would it take you 3 years, 2 years, 1 year, or 2 weeks?

What continues? The disrespect of the plaque still not up?

That's the real point.

Some police took a huge hit trying to protect the US people, our institutions, and our values. Putting up a plaque is literally "the least we could do".
Because it's not politically expediant for the Teaparty who dominate Congress. Trump doesn't like it.

But people can insist on keeping statues of earlier insurrectionists and naming schools for them because it's politically expediant.

If your system of administration is anything like ours it would take so many approvals to get such a seemingly simple task done.
The Wording committee would bicker over the words
The Placement committee would bicker over where to put it
The Budget committee would baulk at the project costs
The Colour committee would agonise over the colour of the frame vs. the colour of the actual plaque
The unions would demand a special site allowance to install it
............

This isn't a government inefficiency problem, at least at the moment. I don't like red tape either, but don't forget the narrative the current crop of politicians now in charge of the House is that J6 insurrectionists were tourists, the election was stolen, the worst J6 terrorists were political hostages. A plaque probably incompatible with their messaging is not something they want to install...

Should have added that to my list then.
The Approval committee is not amused
