Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told a rally crowd in Humble, Texas that his opponent would turn Texas into California by bringing “tofu, silicon and dyed hair,” according to a Reuters reporter.

Oh no! If tofu comes to Texas, you know what comes next: those dirty, dirty Asians!

Honestly, I think a statement this ignorant will probably get him a lot of votes in a state like Texas.

PS[ent]mdash[/ent]did he perhaps mean silicone? There's already a healthy tech industry in Texas.

True, Texas instruments has existed for almost 90 years and they have a fucking map of Texas in their logo. On the other hand, isn't everything supposed to be bigger in Texas?

But I think the aversion to tofu has more to do with those dirty, dirty vegans and culinary abominations like tofurkey.

Btw, I found this.

Supposedly it shows tofu products being avoided by Houstonians during recent hurricane.

Cruz's PAC also seemed to think showing old photos of Beto in a rock band would somehow hurt Beto, too

I just mailed off for my official Texas vote by mail ballot. I will be voting for Beto. And tofu. I wanna see weasel faced Ted skulk out of Washington so very bad. Only 58 days til election day. I do so want the Democrats to retake the House. I want to hear Trump and the Faux barking heads rant and rave and shriek, shriek, shriek!

I'm sure his statement had nothing to do with stoking anti-Asian racism.

Sure, Texans hate rock 'n roll because they think electric guitars are powered by witchcraft.

Silicon is already in Texas...it's what Texas Instruments use as a chip substrate. And from what I saw in Dallas and Austin, silicone is already there too. Cruz is a stupid bastard.

One of the disadvantages of ignoring people for no good reason is that you sometimes end up parroting what they said just a few posts ago without realizing it.

Beo O’Rourke, the Democratic congressman from El Paso, Texas, who will challenge Ted Cruz in the fall for the U.S. Senate, joined Nelson and his Family Band, along with Margo Price, onstage near the end of the Red Headed Stranger’s closing set. But O’Rourke didn’t just clap along – he brought some guitar skills and a harmony voice to songs like the pot anthem “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die” and the traditional “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.” The 45-year-old O’Rourke once performed in the punk band Foss with At the Drive-In’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala.

Willie is about as Texas as it gets. Beto be cool. Cruz, well........

So the guy with the fake name and supports the guy with the fake hair color and fake skin color is worried about fake hair color coming to Texas?

So how does the back of your head look today?

I ignored Derec for good reason. And every time I see someone reply to his turgid interjections, I see I was right to do so.
