Just finished the series. Very good, showing things from different viewpoints. And just about everyone is stupid at some point, nobody is perfect.

I wonder where Malintent got his stuff from. First of all, "Native Swedes" are actual Swedes. You know, the white ones.I have thank you for this post. It is truly informative.
I gotta wonder where Derec copies this stuff from.
Second, Mona Sahlin is on the record saying all sorts of things supportive of mass migration into Sweden and also said that Islamic culture was superior to Swedish culture. She is a self-hating Swede who wants Swedes to become a minority in Sweden.
P.S.: Even if his claim of it only applying to the party and the 20% non-white "natives" were true, how does that justify her goal of making the party minority white, other than the ideological hostility to white people?
English translation said:It is scandalous that that my own party, as well as others is totally dedicated to maintaining an old balance of power in which a fifth of the population is invisible. ... ... Within the party we should not look at the flaws of so-called "foreign swedes" as a problem. Instead, it is we, the white majority, which is so numerous. We have to understand that we are the problem.
It is the "White Norm" which dominates positions of power within the Social Democratic Party. ...Monica Sahlin. She demands more diversity in the Party. ... Party's old slogan "Everybody must come along." ...
and the scene with the meeting of the Black Caucus, showing the different groups. Made me think of Monty Python's Life of Brian showing the different resistance groups, some of whom are more interested in fighting each other than the Romans. (fiscal conservative? really??)Just finished the series. Very good, showing things from different viewpoints. And just about everyone is stupid at some point, nobody is perfect.
I know, right?
Because they are college students, with college student problems, and the limited thinking and tunnel vision of adult children trying to find out how to be just adults.

That's what I've noticed about five episodes in - and what I was expecting, given that the movie that the series is derived from portrayed the characters the same way. The freakout over the series name is amusing though, kinda like how some folks are still mad about White Men Can't Jump, but clearly have no idea what that movie showed.
You got savaged LordKiran, unless you think that Native Americans (descendants of the crossers of Beringia ~13,000 years ago) don't deserve that appellation.
At any rate there is a distinction between "ethnic Swedes" and Swedish nationals. What that means is up for negotiation.
I guess by the definition above, I am a Native American.
Fuck you Soros, I no longer need your protestor money. I have casino money coming!

So you're not going to tell us where you got the single sentence, out-of-context quote-mine that you've clearly taken liberties in interpreting.

I added emphasis to the "within the party" phrase because there is an earlier context to the quote in the video where reporters are talking about the party make-up:
It is the "White Norm" which dominates positions of power within the Social Democratic Party. ...Monica Sahlin. She demands more diversity in the Party. ... Party's old slogan "Everybody must come along." ...
Finally binge watched the first season. Chapters 1 through 4 I was thinking "meh" - witty, fast-paced, certainly enjoyable to watch but I wasn't seeing any big deal either way.
Chapter 5 and most of 6, though? Much better. Some insightful dialog.
I also liked the way they silently broke the fourth wall here and there, with just their look.
Not currently.Seriously, you should, if you have Netflix.
You might rail against everything that is said but you'd hear a different point of view. In my experience, that's always a good thing. Case in point: I still read your posts.
It would be if the shoe were on the other foot. The single biggest obstacle to improving race relations is this huge double standard. White people are expected to walk on eggshells while blacks are given a pass even for gross racism like calling white people "cave beasts" and stuff. The title refers to the on campus radio show hosted by one of the characters. Racist? I didn't find it so.
Incidents, I am sure, where the culprits are always white people. This fictional campus is probably what #BLMers imagine non-fictional campuses are, but are actually not.The title of the radio program (and the movie) is really well chosen: Dear is used because it truly is an invitation to look at an incident, many incidents, events, the culture of the fictional campus, etc. from a non-white point of view, specifically, a black point of view.
The problem is that this is one-sided. Black activists are never called to listen to the white side of the story. The whole nonsense of calling everything "racist", the whole idea of "microaggressions", giving too much emphasis to white-on-black crime but ignoring black-on-white crime etc.Yes, there's anger there but if you are willing to actually listen instead of immediately hiding behind a gianormous wall of fear and denial, it is hard to not at least consider how things seem, how they seem to work from someone else's perspective. A perspective that is distinct from yours.
Toni, are this you and Mr. Toni?I binged it in two sittings and I think I will go back and re-watch, not binge, though. I know I missed some dialogue because I have a bit of a hearing loss so sometimes, it helps hearing some dialogue more than once.
I do like action, also comedy, thrillers, etc. Relationshipy stuff is not my cup of tea, except occasionally couched in comedy, but even there I find the first halves of movies such as "40 Year Old Virgin" or "Knocked Up" far superior to the second half.Honestly? This is a reason that maybe you should watch this show and other good quality shows with a strong focus on relationships. If you are like a lot of men, you tend to be drawn a lot more to action flicks, which is fine, but it's only one kind of entertainment. Kind of limiting. I get the need/desire to just check out and indulge in mindless entertainment/fantasy. To me, that's rather mind numbing. You and I disagree about almost everything (almost thrown in because I dislike the use of absolutes) but you've struck me as being not dumb and also being somewhat intellectually curious and somewhat aware that you may be missing something you would find valuable if only you knew how to access it.
It has nothing to do with sleep patterns, but with the fact that that's the stupidest word to be coined since at least 2007 and probably longer. You're a pretty hard sleeper, we all get that.
