I have been doing a lot of research lately and I was shocked to find out that the Democrats are the party of racism. Anyone who doesn't know much about politics always hears in passing, "Republicans are racists who hate blacks." You hear it so much you begin to think it's fact.

But after doing research, I found out that it was the Democrats who started the KKK. The Democrats in the early days were against Black Republican leaders and were doing everything they could to stop black republicans. Democrats started Jim Crow laws and even fought to keep slavery. Republicans were the ones who fought to end slavery! This isn't something you hear in the mainstream media.

During the 60's when the civil rights laws were passed, a higher percentage of Democrats voted AGAINST these laws than Republicans! Lyndon B Johnson was a known racist who dropped n-bombs regularly with no remorse. Robert Byrd was a Democrat and a member of the KKK and he was a senator until 2010! Even today, the democratic party gives welfare to blacks so they get "just enough" to stay on the Democratic plantation and voting Democrat. Blacks were excited when Obama became President because he was gonna fix every problem in the black communities. Turns out he did nothing and blacks are actually worse off now after we had a black President!

So, how did this myth start that the "Republicans are racists?" If you look at history, it's obviously not true. Look at Candace Owens today. I haven't seen one Republican yell, "Get this black woman out of our party!" But I have seen many Democrats saying, "What an Uncle Tom! She needs to go back to the Democratic party!" How come Democrats are still being racist by trying to control black people?

Blacks today have the lowest unemployment under Donald Trump, who gets called a racist by the left, despite no evidence. If Trump was a racist, I would expect black unemployment to skyrocket due to bigoted laws.

It's a good thing we have people today like Candace Owens to expose the truth, despite the fact that she gets called racist comments every day by Democrats. Did you know that a lot of Democrats even called her a white supremacist? Yes, the "logic and facts" of the left is now convinced a BLACK WOMAN is a WHITE SUPRMACIST!

You are leaving out the fact that the Democratic and Republican partyies switched their electorates: the Democrats used to represent the South and the Republicans represented the Northeast (and most of the rest of the country).

The Republicans are now the party of racists because they used a strategy of courting Southern racists to win elections. It is called the Southern Strategy. This has been admitted to by the Republican party and they have apologized for it. This is a historical fact.

Your ignorance is flagrant. Are you adverse to actually learning about history from real historical sources? The following is a much abridged and oversimplified accounting of historical events but you clearly don't have a clue.

Yes, southern Democrats were extremely racist up to and until the civil rights era. Republicans were the party of Lincoln and so southern blacks voted for Republicans and southern whites voted for Democrats. But the civil rights era is when the southern racist faction of Democrats abandoned the party. John F. Kennedy was sympathetic to the cause of civil rights and personally made efforts to help Martin Luther King Junior. JFK's efforts and success in progressing the civil rights agenda was the clarion call to the southern Democrats that they were no longer welcome in the Democratic party.

But then along came Nixon.
Nixon's "Southern Strategy" was to cozy up to these southern racists who no longer felt welcomed by the Democratic party. And it worked. And the Republicans never looked back. They picked up all the racist dog whistles they could, including "States Rights," to help them win the votes of racists throughout the country.

Why are Republicans the party of racists? Because they adopted the racists discarded by the Democrats and incorporated their racist ideologies into the fabric of their party.

This is a total non sequitur. You have to be wholly unequipped for critical thinking to even begin to accept this as a valid argument or counterargument to the proposition that Trump is a racist. Whether or not Trump is a racist has nothing to do with the black unemployment rate. The unemployment rate is low overall and this is a continuation of a trend that has been going on since the recovery from the 2008 recession.

But for some reason, I suspect you aren't particularly interested in reasoned, nuanced discussion.


Also, I might add, President's don't pass laws, so I'm not sure why that is what "you'd expect". Rather, I suspect, it is simply another talking point from some right-wing blogger which you apparently find to be an impressive/convincing rhetorical technique.

HuffPo is a biased source regularly laughed at by the right. A lot of those are taken out of context in an attempt to smear the President. Trump wasn't the one who first brought up Obama's birth certificate. He just went along with it. Wouldn't every honest American? I want to make sure our Presidents are born in the United States and that no one is trying to pull a fast one over our eyes by trying to become President in an illegal way. How is that considered "racist?"
