The actual story of this is "Cops are accused of brutality, but manage to produce video that shows they behaved calmly and professionally and did a good job!" You took this story and spun it into a "Proof that black people are liars" thread like you do with all your "Proof that Palestinians are liars" threads.

On the one hand, it's weird and sad that "Police arrest black person WITHOUT abusing their power" has become a "man bites dog" story. On the other hand, this underscores all the reasons why I think bodycams and dashcams are so important for police and civilians: good cops should not have to worry about accusations of brutality or abuse of power, and bad cops should not be able to hide from responsibility for their mistakes.

And LP shouldn't have to hide his racism even with the complete anonymity of a message board. Such is our strange, imperfect world.

No. The point of this video is to show that even if you have clear video of supposed brutality that without seeing what came before you don't know if it's really out of line or not. I'm saying to be careful to ensure the evidence actually shows what it's claimed to show.

I don't know. Why don't you tell us.

Nobody has claimed that every time a black person is pulled over by the police or arrested for a crime it is racially motivated and the black person is being framed. But there are bad cops out there who target black drivers unjustly and/or unlawfully and sometimes hurt them badly or even kill them when such action is not warranted. The only way to fix the problem is to acknowledge that cops can also commit criminal acts, and to punish these criminal cops suitably when they do so.

I didn't say "a black person." I said "black people." This thread is basically a sequel to the "Dark side of #blacklivesmatter" thread.

You'll also notice that Loren has never actually stated "Palestinians are liars" either, even if that is the very clear subtext of almost every thread he has started that focusses on Palestinian conduct.

And that's what racism looks like in the 21st century. We live in an era where it is no longer socially acceptable to come right out and say it, so people with a racist agenda have to resort to this dog-whistle crap and pretend they're really talking about something else (I again point to the famous example of Lester Maddox, who for several years marched black people out of his restaurant at gunpoint while vehemently claiming that he was not a racist).

The subtext here is pretty obvious:
The truth is, black people are stupid and violent, have criminal tendencies and are often confrontational. The whole police brutality scandal is nothing more than anti-white racism by black people who acknowledge that their own bad behavior is the entirety of the problem. The problem is not white supremacy or oppression of minorities, the problem is black degeneracy and their entitlement mentality and all the liberals who constantly pander to them and make them stupid, self-serving racist ideology seem legitimate.

And it's certainly not all black people--at one point three of our 4 immediate neighbors were black. (One couple is now dead of old age, one is in an assisted care place and the house behind us has sat vacant but cared for for some years now, we think they're in California but we aren't sure.) They were all good people. The difference is they were all educated people who had been raised properly, not welfare tickets.

Because a trend of police violating the civil rights of black people isn't a problem that needs to be addressed. It's just an "Excuse."

And now you're going to tell me all about how you believe that the achievement gap is a real problem, how setting low expectations for black students is a bad idea, about how students who are struggling should receive extra help and the system should make sure they get the education they deserve, about how NO student should be written off as "unteachable" or allowed to fall through the cracks just because somebody out there thinks those resources should be better spent on gifted students who show more potential.

You're the guy who compared black children to puppies and told us that their basic study habits were all formed by the time they were four and that they should be sent away to "special schools" if they demonstrated poor proficiency in kindergarten.

See, everything you claim to BELIEVE is utterly inconsistent with what you think we should DO. This, again, reflects the Lester Maddox approach to racism: It's one thing to SAY "I am not a racist, I don't discriminate against black people" But then you see Lester repeatedly frog-marching black people out of his restaurant and gun/knife/club point... that statement looks like bullshit.
