I've never seen the show Duck Dynasty. It came to my attention via 3rd party. It was/is a reality show about rednecks. Now it appears it was all fake. Those that were upset before still seem upset. Are you laughing, pissed off, or uninterested?

I'd heard of the show, and finally got around to watching a couple episodes over the holidays (mom has satellite TV...I don't.)


As far as it being "fake," most "reality" shows are fake to a certain degree. I've known people who were on Survivor, The Apprentice, Last Comic Standing, and The Amazing Race, and the impression I've got is that the emphasis is on the "show" portion rather than the "reality" when it comes to making these series.

Am I laughing? Yep. Not because the clan (or is it Klan?) portrayed in Duck Dynasty is funny, but rather because there is an audience ready to lap up carefully edited video of these idiots.

Uninterested. Saw those photos a year or so ago and was not durprised then, and was not interested then. The "reality" tv shows strike me as being weird highly scripted nonsense.

They actually are relatives and have at least part-ownership of a decoy & hunting supply company. The TV people told them to grow their hair and beards out for the show. I suspect that they are actually just as bigoted as they sound, regardless of whether the look is authentic.

About the only thing on cable I'm interested in is the Tour de France. To get that I have to have the Outdoor Life Network and to get that I have to buy a big package. Fuck them.

I am sorely dissapointed. I expected this show to be the long awaited return of DuckTales. Scrooge Mcduck and his dynasty.
