You know, it is funny that people do offer a "defense" of criminal wrong doing on claims of "it was only a technical violation of the law" so not serious. We don't really know who leaked her employment. We know who talked to the press, not whether it was sanctioned by those higher up the ladder. Given the lack of punishment I rather suspect he wasn't acting on his own.

As things turned out, it was legal for the top echelon of the Executive Branch to leak the information. Hence, despite how grossly immoral and treasonous the act was, the only actual crime committed was them lying to the FBI about the leak.
