I don't see any risk in any country that socialism is going anywhere. Me personally, I think Europe right now would benefit from a bit less socialism. I think we've gotten a bit fat and lazy the last 50 years.

Woke? Woke is not what the war is about. This is a war for Western civilization against the islamic hordes. A war that has been waged by islam since its inception.

I think the western wokes are enabling the Islamists. Islam is partly an imperialistic ideology. It needs to be managed somehow. Islam is also a victimhood culture. So Muslims are cool with the project of their ever expansion of the caliphate being stopped. They get to moan about it = win. In the west, the Muslims are really not trying that hard.

But we need to stop them. Non-Muslims need to put down our foot and stop tolerating their agressive behaviour. Muslims are basically continuosly poking at the social fabric to see what they can get away with.

Marx's version of "socialism" was all about abolishing private ownership of the means of production and doing away with the profit motive. The so-called "socialism" that has become all-pervasive is all about financing social programs, a safety net, and income flattening by harnessing the profit motive -- by leaving private ownership of the means of production intact and taking a cut of its profits. The Girondists were free-marketeers -- they're called leftists because they were for the main leftist program of the day: abolishing the monarchy. Talk of socialism at all at that stage of the Revolution is a bit anachronistic -- they were guillotined in 1793, whereas recognizably socialist ideology didn't really show up there until the late 1790s -- but the Girondists were even opposed to the proto-socialist policies like price controls the revolutionary government was starting to put in place.
